Evaluando nuestro currículo y nuestra ruta hacia una educación de excelencia nos sentimos muy
orgullosos de analizar las ideas presentadas en la Ley que se aprobó de Reforma Educativa y ver
como Washburn tiene dentro de su currículo los tres principios integradores al currículo que ellos
indican serán parte de la nueva reforma (Desarrollo moral, valores universales y el desarrollo del
pensamiento crítico).
De la próxima semana habrá clase los tres primeros días (lunes, martes y miércoles). Estos días
sustituyen días sin clase durante el huracán María. Proyectándonos a las actividades próximas
tenemos:
2-6 abril – Semana del Inglés
13 de abril – Actividad del National Honor Society – 7:00 pm – Club de Leones.
Se reconocerán a los que mantuvieron los cuatro pilares (servicio, aprovechamiento, liderazgo y
carácter) durante el año.
9-13 abril – Semana de la Biblioteca
Agradecemos la participación de los estudiantes el pasado miércoles 21 de marzo al venir con
medias de distintos colores, uniéndose así al Día Internacional de los niños con síndrome de
“down”.

Esta semana se acorta debido al “Spring Break” o celebración de la Semana Mayor. No obstante, el
trabajo y compromiso por el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes se mantiene inalterado. Le invitamos
a que se comunique y nos comparta sus preocupaciones para poder ayudarle. Puede llamarnos al
(787) 842-2226 opción 2 (para español), luego opción 3 (para el directorio) y opción 7 (para la
oficina de Trabajo Social). De igual manera, se puede comunicar vía correo electrónico a
[email protected]. O si prefiere, puede solicitar una cita y con gusto le
atenderemos. Creemos firmemente que la comunicación directa, utilizando los canales adecuados
que ofrece la institución, es la manera más efectiva para solucionar los problemas.
Le exhortamos a que utilice estos días de receso disfrutando de la sana convivencia y del compartir
en familia. Para esto no es necesario incurrir en gastos extraordinarios. Una salida al patio a jugar
baloncesto, enseñarles a nuestros hijos a bailar un trompo o a jugar la peregrina. Compartir con
nuestro hijo adolescente un maratón de sus películas favoritas o un juego de briscas. Sólo hay que
poner nuestra creatividad a correr. Les aseguro que todos lo disfrutarán.

This week we will begin a new chapter in our English books “Our Neighborhood”.Things we see in
our community.....Fire station, Restaurant, Hospital, Post office, Schools, Stores, etc....and
community workers.
In Math we will introduce number 10. Count 10 objects to form units, trace and write the
number. They are getting better at their fine motor skills.
