1 Important instructions for safety and environmentThis section contains safety instructions that will help protect from risk of personal injury or property damage. Failure to follow these instructions shall void any warranty.1.1 General safety

•Thisproductcanbeusedbychildrenatandabove8yearsoldandbypersonswhosephysical,sensoryormentalcapabilitieswerenotfullydevelopedorwholack experience and knowledge provided that they are supervised or trained on thesafeusageoftheproductandtherisksitbringsout.Childrenmustnotplaywiththeproduct.Cleaningandmaintenanceworksshouldnotbeperformedbychildrenunlesstheyaresupervisedbysomeone.Childrenoflessthan3yearsshouldbekeptawayunlesscontinuouslysupervised.

•Neverplacetheproductonacarpet-coveredfloor.Otherwise,lackofairflowbeneaththemachinewillcauseelectricalpartstooverheat.Thiswillcausepro-blemswithyourproduct.

•Iftheproducthasafailure,itshouldnotbeoperatedunlessitisrepairedbytheAuthorized Service Agent. There is the risk of electric shock!

•Connecttheproducttoagroundedoutletprotectedbya16Afuse.Donotne-glecttohavethegroundinginstallationmadebyaqualifiedelectrician.Ourcom-panyshallnotbeliableforanydamagesthatwillarisewhentheproductisusedwithout grounding in accordance with the local regulations.

•Thewatersupplyanddraininghosesmustbesecurelyfastenedandremainun-damaged.Otherwise,thereistheriskofwaterleakage.

•Neveropentheloadingdoororremovethefilterwhilethereisstillwaterinthedrum.Otherwise,riskoffloodingandinjuryfromhotwaterwilloccur.

•Donotforceopenthelockedloadingdoor.Theloadingdoorwillbereadytoopenjustafewminutesafterthewashingcyclecomestoanend.Incaseofforcingthe loading door to open, the door and the lock mechanism may get damaged.

•Unplugtheproductwhennotinuse.•Neverwashtheproductbyspreadingorpouringwaterontoit!Thereistheriskof

electric shock!•Nevertouchtheplugwithwethands!Neverunplugbypullingonthecable,alwayspulloutbygrabbingtheplug.

•Usedetergents,softenersandsupplementssuitableforautomaticwashingma-chines only.

•Followtheinstructionsonthetextiletagsandonthedetergentpackage.•Theproductmustbeunpluggedduringinstallation,maintenance,cleaningand

repairing procedures.•AlwayshavetherepairingprocedurescarriedoutbytheAuthorizedServiceAgent.Manufacturershallnotbeheldliablefordamagesthatmayarisefromprocedurescarriedoutbyunauthorizedpersons.

1.3 Children's safety•Packagingmaterialsaredangeroustochildren.Keeppackagingmaterialsina

safe place away from reach of the children.•Electricalproductsaredangerousforthechildren.Keepchildrenawayfromtheproductwhenitisinuse.Donotletthemtotamperwiththeproduct.Usechildlock to prevent children from intervening with the product.

•Donotforgettoclosetheloadingdoorwhenleavingtheroomwheretheproductis located.

•Storealldetergentsandadditivesinasafeplaceawayfromthereachofthechildrenbyclosingthecoverofthedetergentcontainerorsealingthedetergentpackage.

While washing the laundry at high temperatures, the loading door glassbecomeshot.Therefore,keepespeciallythechildrenawayfrom the loading door of the machine while the washing operation is in progress.

1.4 Package information•PackagingmaterialsoftheproductaremanufacturedfromrecyclablematerialsinaccordancewithourNationalEnvironmentRegulations.Donotdisposeofthepackaging materials together with the domestic or other wastes. Take them to the packagingmaterialcollectionpointsdesignatedbythelocalauthorities.


1.5 Disposing of the waste product•Thisproducthasbeenmanufacturedwithhighqualitypartsandmaterialswhichcanbereusedandaresuitableforrecycling.Therefore,donotdisposethepro-duct with normal domestic waste at the end of its service life. Take it to a collec-tionpointfortherecyclingofelectricalandelectronicequipment.Pleaseconsultyour local authorities to learn the nearest collection point. Help protect the envi-ronmentandnaturalresourcesbyrecyclingusedproducts.Forchildren'ssafety,cutthepowercableandbreakthelockingmechanismoftheloadingdoorsothatitwillbenon-functionalbeforedisposingoftheproduct.

1.6 Compliance with WEEE DirectiveThisproductcomplieswithEUWEEEDirective(2012/19/EU).Thisproductbearsaclassificationsymbolforwasteelectricalandelectronicequipment(WEEE).Thisproducthasbeenmanufacturedwithhighqualitypartsandmaterialswhichcanbereusedandaresuitableforrecycling.Donotdispose of the waste product with normal domestic and other wastes at the end of its service life. 2 InstallationTo make the product ready for use, review the information in the user manual and make sure that the electricity, tap water supplyandwaterdrainagesystemsareappropriate.Iftheyarenot,callaqualifiedtechnicianandplumbertohaveanynecessary arrangements carried out.

C INFORMATIONSPreparationofthelocationandelectrical,tapwaterandwastewater installations at the place of installation is under customer’s responsibility.

Make sure that the water inlet and discharge hoses as well as the powercablearenotfolded,pinchedorcrushedwhilepushingtheproduct into its place after installation or cleaning procedures.

B WARNINGInstallationandelectricalconnectionsoftheproductmustbecarriedoutbytheAuthorizedServiceAgent.Manufacturershallnotbeheldliablefordamagesthatmayarisefromprocedurescarriedoutbyunauthorizedpersons.

A WARNINGPriortoinstallation,visuallycheckiftheproducthasanydefectsonit.Ifso,donothaveitinstalled.Damagedproductscauserisksforyour safety.

2.1 Appropriate installation location• Placethemachineonarigidfloor.Donotplaceitonalong

pile rug or similar surfaces.• Totalweightofthewashingmachineandthedryer-withfullload-whentheyareplacedontopofeachotherreachestoapprox.180kilograms.Placetheproductonasolid and flat floor that has sufficient load carrying capacity!

• Donotplacetheproductonthepowercable.• Donotinstalltheproductatplaceswheretemperaturemayfallbelow0ºC.

• Placetheproductatleast1cmawayfromtheedgesofother furniture.

2.2 Removing packaging reinforcementTiltthemachinebackwardstoremovethepackagingreinforcement.Removethepackagingreinforcementbypullingtheribbon.

2.3 Removing the transportation locks

A WARNINGDonotremovethetransportationlocksbeforetakingoutthepackaging reinforcement.

Removethetransportationsafetyboltsbeforeoperatingthewashingmachine!Otherwise,theproductwillbedamaged.

Loosenalltheboltswithasuitablespanneruntiltheyrotatefreely(C).Removetransportationsafetyboltsbyturningthemgently.AttachtheplasticcoverssuppliedintheUserManualbagintotheholesontherearpanel.(P)

C INFORMATIONSKeepthetransportationsafetyboltsinasafeplacetoreusewhenthewashingmachineneedstobemovedagaininthefuture.

Nevermovetheproductwithoutthetransportationsafetyboltsproperly fixed in place!

2.4 Connecting water supply

C INFORMATIONSThewatersupplypressurerequiredtoruntheproductisbetween1to10bars(0.1–1MPa).Itisnecessarytohave10–80litersof water flowing from the fully open tap in one minute to have your machine run smoothly. Attach a pressure reducing valve if water pressure is higher.

Ifyouaregoingtousethedoublewater-inletproductasasingle(cold)water-inletunit,youmustinstallthesuppliedstoppertothehotwatervalvebeforeoperatingtheproduct.(Appliesfortheproductssuppliedwithablindstoppergroup.)

Ifyouwanttousebothwaterinletsoftheproduct,connectthehot water hose after removing the stopper and gasket group from thehotwatervalve.(Appliesfortheproductssuppliedwithablindstoppergroup.)

A WARNINGModelswithasinglewaterinletshouldnotbeconnectedtothehotwatertap.Insuchacasethelaundrywillgetdamagedortheproduct will switch to protection mode and will not operate.

Donotuseoldorusedwaterinlethosesonthenewproduct.Itmaycause stains on your laundry.

Connectthespecialhosessuppliedwiththeproducttothewaterinletsontheproduct.Redhose(left)(max.90ºC)isforhotwaterinlet,bluehose(right)(max.25ºC)isforcoldwaterinlet.

A WARNINGEnsure that the cold and hot water connections are made correctly wheninstallingtheproduct.Otherwise,yourlaundrywillcomeouthot at the end of the washing process and wear out.

Tightenallhosenutsbyhand.Neveruseawrenchwhentighteningthenuts.Openthetapscompletelyaftermakingthehose connection to check for water leaks at the connection points.Ifanyleaksoccur,turnoffthetapandremovethenut.Retighten the nut carefully after checking the seal. To prevent waterleakagesanddamagescausedbythem,keepthetapsclosed when the machine is not in use.


2.5 Connecting to the drain• Theendofthedrainhosemustbedirectlyconnectedtothewastewaterdrainortothewashbasin.

A WARNINGDonotremovethetransportationlocksbeforetakingoutthepackaging reinforcement.

• Thehoseshouldbeattachedtoaheightofatleast40cm,and100cmatmost.

• Incasethehoseiselevatedafterlayingitonthefloorlevelorclosetotheground(lessthan40cmabovetheground),waterdischargebecomesmoredifficultandthelaundrymay come out excessively wet. Therefore, follow the heightsdescribedinthefigure.

• Topreventflowingofdirtywaterbackintothemachineandto allow for easy discharge, do not immerse the hose end into the dirty water or do not drive it in the drain more than 15cm.Ifitistoolong,cutitshort.

• Theendofthehoseshouldnotbebent,itshouldnotbesteppedonandthehosemustnotbepinchedbetweenthedrain and the machine.

• Ifthelengthofthehoseistooshort,useitbyaddingan original extension hose. Length of the hose may not belongerthan3.2m.Toavoidwaterleakfailures,theconnectionbetweentheextensionhoseandthedrainhoseoftheproductmustbefittedwellwithanappropriateclamp as not to come off and leak.

2.6 Adjusting the feet

A WARNINGInordertoensurethattheproductoperatesmoresilentlyandvibration-free,itmuststandlevelandbalancedonitsfeet.Balancethemachinebyadjustingthefeet.Otherwise,theproductmaymovefromitsplaceandcausecrushingandvibrationproblems.

Loosenthelocknutsonthefeetbyhand.Adjustthefeetuntiltheproductstandslevelandbalanced.Tightenalllocknutsagainbyhand.

A WARNINGDonotuseanytoolstoloosenthelocknuts.Otherwise,theywillget damaged.

2.7 Electrical connectionConnecttheproducttoagroundedoutletprotectedbya13Afuse.Ourcompanyshallnotbeliableforanydamagesthat will arise when the product is used without grounding in accordance with the local regulations.• Connectionmustcomplywithnationalregulations.• Powercableplugmustbewithineasyreachafter

installation.• Ifthecurrentvalueofthefuseorbreakerinthehouseislessthan13Amps,haveaqualifiedelectricianinstalla13Amp fuse.

• Thevoltagespecifiedinthe“Technicalspecifications”sectionmustbeequaltoyourmainsvoltage.

• Donotmakeconnectionsviaextensioncablesormulti-plugs.

B WARNING: DamagedpowercablesmustbereplacedbytheAuthorizedServiceAgents.

ImportantFitting a different plugAs the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows:1 Connectthegreen-yelloworgreen(earth)wiretotheterminalintheplugmarked‘E’orwiththesymbolforcoloured green and yellow or green.

2 Connecttheblue(neutral)wiretotheterminalintheplugmarked‘N’orcolouredblack.

3 Connectthebrown(live)wiretotheterminalintheplugmarked ‘L’ or coloured red.

Withthealternativeplugsa13Afusemustbefittedeitherintheplugoradaptororinthemainfusebox.Ifindoubtcontactaqualifiedelectrician.

2.8 First useBeforestartingtousetheproduct,makesurethatallpreparations are made in accordance with the instructions in sections"Importantsafetyinstructions"and"Installation".To prepare the product for washing laundry, perform first operationinCotton-90programme.Beforestartingtheprogramme,putmax.100gofpowderanti-limescaleintothemainwashdetergentcompartment(compartmentnr.II).Iftheanti-limescaleisintabletform,putonlyonetabletintocompartmentnr.II.Drytheinsideofthebellowwithacleanpiece of cloth after the programme has come to an end.

C INFORMATIONSUseananti-limescalesuitableforthewashingmachines.

Somewatermighthaveremainedintheproductduetothequalitycontrolprocessesintheproduction.Itisnotharmfulfortheproduct.

2.10 Transportation of the productUnplugtheproductbeforetransportingit.Removewaterdrainandwatersupplyconnections.Draintheremainingwaterintheproductcompletely;see,"Drainingremainingwaterandcleaningthepumpfilter".Installtransportationsafetyboltsinthereverseorderofremovalprocedure;see,"Removingthetransportationlocks".

2.11 Disposing of the old productDisposeoftheoldproductinanenvironmentallyfriendlymanner.Refer to your local dealer or solid waste collection centre in your area to learn how to dispose of your product.Forchildren'ssafety,cutthepowercableandbreakthelockingmechanismoftheloadingdoorsothatitwillbenonfunctionalbeforedisposingoftheproduct.


3 Preparation

3.1 Things to be done for energy savingFollowing information will help you use the product in an ecologicalandenergy-efficientmanner.• Operatetheproductinthehighestcapacityallowedbytheprogrammeyouhaveselected,butdonotoverload;see,"Programmeandconsumptiontable".

• Alwaysfollowtheinstructionsonthedetergentpackaging.• Washslightlysoiledlaundryatlowtemperatures.• Usefasterprogrammesforsmallquantitiesoflightlysoiled

laundry.• Donotusehightemperaturesforlaundrythatisnotheavily

soiled or stained.• Donotusedetergentinexcessoftheamount

recommended on the detergent package.

3.2 Sorting the laundry• Sortlaundryaccordingtotypeoffabric,colour,anddegreeofsoilingandallowablewatertemperature.

• Alwaysobeytheinstructionsgivenonthegarmenttags.

3.3 Preparing laundry for washing• Laundryitemswithmetalattachmentssuchas,underwiredbras,beltbucklesormetalbuttonswilldamagethemachine.Removethemetalpiecesorwashtheclothesbyputtingtheminalaundrybagorpillowcase.

• Takeoutallsubstancesinthepocketssuchascoins,pensandpaperclips,andturnpocketsinsideoutandbrush.Suchobjectsmaydamagetheproductorcausenoiseproblem.

• Putsmallsizeclothessuchasinfant'ssocksandnylonstockingsinalaundrybagorpillowcase.

• Placecurtainsinwithoutcompressingthem.Removecurtain attachment items.

• Fastenzippers,sewloosebuttonsandmendripsandtears.

• Wash“machinewashable”or“handwashable”labeledproducts only with an appropriate programme.

• Donotwashcoloursandwhitestogether.New,darkcoloured cottons release a lot of dye. Wash them separately.

• Toughstainsmustbetreatedproperlybeforewashing.Ifunsure, check with a dry cleaner.

• Useonlydyes/colourchangersandlimescaleremoverssuitableformachinewash.Alwaysfollowtheinstructionson the package.

• Washtrousersanddelicatelaundryturnedinsideout.• KeeplaundryitemsmadeofAngorawoolinthefreezerforafewhoursbeforewashing.Thiswillreducepilling.

• Laundrythataresubjectedtomaterialssuchasflour,limedust,milkpowder,etc.intenselymustbeshakenoffbeforeplacing into the machine. Such dusts and powders on the laundrymaybuildupontheinnerpartsofthemachineintime and can cause damage.

3.4 Correct load capacityThe maximum load capacity depends on the type of laundry, the degree of soiling and the washing programme desired.The machine automatically adjusts the amount of water according to the weight of the loaded laundry.

A WARNINGFollowtheinformationinthe“Programmeandconsumptiontable”.When overloaded, machine’s washing performance will drop. Moreover,noiseandvibrationproblemsmayoccur.

3.5 Loading the laundryOpentheloadingdoor.Placelaundryitemslooselyintothemachine.Pushtheloadingdoortocloseuntilyouhearalocking sound. Ensure that no items are caught in the door.

C INFORMATIONSThe loading door is locked while a programme is running. The door canonlybeopenedawhileaftertheprogrammecomestoanend.

A WARNINGIncaseofmisplacingthelaundry,noiseandvibrationproblemsmayoccur in the machine.

3.6 Using detergent and softenerDetergent DrawerThe detergent drawer is composed of three compartments:-(1)forprewash-(2)formainwash–(3)forsoftener–(*)inaddition,thereissiphonpieceinthesoftenercompartment.

• Inaprogrammewithprewash,donotputliquiddetergentintotheprewashcompartment(compartmentnr.1).

• Donotselectaprogrammewithprewashifyouareusingadetergentbagordispensingball.Placethedetergentbagorthedispensingballdirectlyamongthelaundryinthemachine.

• Ifyouareusingliquiddetergent,donotforgettoplacetheliquiddetergentcupintothemainwashcompartment(compartmentnr.2).

3.7 Choosing the detergent typeThetypeofdetergenttobeuseddependsonthetypeandcolourofthefabric.• Usedifferentdetergentsforcolouredandwhitelaundry.• Washyourdelicateclothesonlywithspecialdetergents(liquiddetergent,woolshampoo,etc.)usedsolelyfordelicate clothes.

• Whenwashingdarkcolouredclothesandquilts,itisrecommendedtouseliquiddetergent.

• Washwoolenswithspecialdetergentmadespecificallyforwoolens.

A WARNINGUseonlydetergentsmanufacturedspecificallyforautomaticwashing machines.

DonotusePowderedSoap.

3.8 Adjusting detergent amountTheamountofwashingdetergenttobeuseddependsontheamount of laundry, the degree of soiling and water hardness. Readthemanufacturer'sinstructionsonthedetergentpackage carefully and follow the dosage values.• Donotuseamountsexceedingthedosagequantitiesrecommendedonthedetergentpackagetoavoidproblemsof excessive foam, poor rinsing, financial savings and finally, environmental protection.

• Uselesserdetergentforsmallamountsorlightlysoiledclothes.

• Useconcentrateddetergentsintherecommendeddosage.

3.9 Using softenersPourthesoftenerintothesoftenercompartmentofthedetergent drawer.• Usethedosagesrecommendedonthepackage.• Donotexceedthe(>max<)levelmarkinginthesoftener

compartment.• Ifthesoftenerhaslostitsfluidity,diluteitwithwaterbefore

putting it in the detergent drawer.Using bleaches• Selectaprogrammewithprewashandaddthebleachingagentatthebeginningoftheprewash.Donotputdetergent in the prewash compartment.

• Donotusebleachingagentanddetergentbymixingthem.

• Usejustalittleamount(approx.50ml)ofbleachingagentand rinse the clothes very well as it causes skin irritation. Donotpourthebleachingagentontotheclothesanddonot use it for coloured clothes.

• Whenusingoxygenbasedbleaches,followtheinstructionson the package and select a programme that washes at a lower temperature.

• Oxygenbasedbleachescanbeusedtogetherwithdetergents; however, if its thickness is not the same with the detergent, put the detergent first into the compartment nr."II"inthedetergentdrawerandwaituntilthedetergentflows while the machine is taking in water. Add the bleachingagentfromthesamecompartmentwhilethemachine is still taking in water.

Using limescale remover• Whenrequired,uselimescaleremoversmanufactured

specifically for washing machines only. • Alwaysfollowinstructionsonthepackage.

5 Maintenance and cleaningServicelifeoftheproductextendsandfrequentlyfacedproblemsdecreaseifcleanedatregularintervals.

5.1 Cleaning the detergent drawerCleanthedetergentdraweratregularintervals(every4-5washingcycles)asshownbelowinordertopreventaccumulation of powder detergent in time.

Pressthedottedpointonthesiphoninthesoftenercompartment and pull towards you until the compartment is removed from the machine.

C INFORMATIONSIfmorethannormalamountofwaterandsoftenermixturestartstogatherinthesoftenercompartment,thesiphonmustbecleaned.

Wash the detergent drawer and the siphon with plenty of lukewarmwaterinawashbasin.Wearprotectiveglovesoruseanappropriatebrushtoavoidtouchingoftheresiduesinthedrawerwithyourskinwhencleaning.Insertthedrawerbackinto its place after cleaning and make sure that it is seated well.

5.2 Cleaning the loading door and the drumFor products with drum cleaning programme, please see Operatingtheproduct-Programmes.Forproductswithoutdrumcleaning,followthebelowsteps to clean the drum: Select Additional Water or Extra Rinse auxiliary functions. UseaCottons programme withoutpre-wash.Set the temperature to the level recommended on the drum cleaning agent which can be provided from authorized services. Apply this procedure without any laundry in the product. Beforestartingtheprogramme,put1pouchofspecialdrumcleaningagent(ifthespecialagentcouldnotbesupplied,putmax.100gofpowderanti-limescale)intothemainwashdetergentcompartment(compartmentno.“2”).Iftheanti-limescaleisintabletform,putonlyonetabletintothemainwashcompartmentno.“2”.Drytheinsideofthebellowwith a clean piece of cloth after the programme has come to an end.

5.4 Cleaning the water intake filtersThere is a filter at the end of each water intake valve at the rear of the machine and also at the end of each water intake hose where they are connected to the tap. These filters preventforeignsubstancesanddirtinthewatertoenterthewashingmachine.Filtersshouldbecleanedastheydogetdirty.

Closethetaps.Removethenutsofthewaterintakehosestoaccessthefiltersonthewaterintakevalves.Cleanthemwithanappropriatebrush.Ifthefiltersaretoodirty,takethemoutbymeansofpliersandcleanthem.Takeoutthefilterson the flat ends of the water intake hoses together with the gaskets and clean thoroughly under running water. Replace the gaskets and filters carefully in their places and tighten the hosenutsbyhand.

5.5 Draining remaining water and cleaning the pump filterThe filter system in your machine prevents solid items such asbuttons,coinsandfabricfiberscloggingthepumpimpellerduringdischargeofwashingwater.Thus,thewaterwillbedischargedwithoutanyproblemandtheservicelifeofthepump will extend.Ifthemachinefailstodrainwater,thepumpfilterisclogged.Filtermustbecleanedwheneveritiscloggedorinevery3months.Watermustbedrainedofffirsttocleanthepumpfilter.Inaddition,priortotransportingthemachine(e.g.,whenmovingtoanotherhouse)andincaseoffreezingofthewater,watermayhavetobedrainedcompletely.

Inordertocleanthedirtyfilteranddischargethewater:Unplugthemachinetocutoffthesupplypower.

What is covered?•Repairsnecessaryasaresultoffaultymaterials,defectivecomponentsor

manufacturing defect. •Thecostoffunctionalreplacementparts,butexcludingconsumableitems.• ThelabourcostsofaBekoapprovedrepairertocarryouttherepair.What is not covered?•Transit,deliveryoraccidentaldamageormisuseandabuse.• Cabinetorappearanceparts,includingknobs,flaps,handlesorcontainerlids.• Accessoriesorconsumableitemsincludingbutnotlimitedto,icetrays,scrapers,

cutlery baskets, filters and light bulbs. •Repairsrequiredasaresultofunauthorisedrepairorinexpertinstallationthatfails

to meet the requirements contained in the user instruction book.•Repairstoproductsusedoncommercialornon-residentialhouseholdpremises.• Lossoffrozenfoodinfreezersorfridge/freezers.(Foodlossinsuranceisoften

included within your household contents insurance policy, or may be available separately from your retailer).
