Due to changes in this year’s graduation requirements, the half-
days on May 24th and 25th, intended for “Senior Presentations” at
the High School, will no longer be necessary. Therefore, to best
support student learning at a critical time of year, those days
will be returned to regular school days for the HIGH SCHOOL ONLY.
Please plan accordingly.
WIAA/Dairy Farmers of
The Dairy Farmers of Washington and Les Schwab Tires in
conjunction with the WIAA proudly present the Smart Choices
Scholarship Program. This annual program recognizes one male
and one female graduating senior from among the WIAA member high
schools for excellence in athletics/activities, academics,
leadership and community service throughout his and her high school
career. Smart Choices winners receive a $5,000
scholarship toward the institution of his and her choosing. An
additional four (4) male and four (4) female finalists
receive
$1,000 scholarships.

Lynden International Lodge Scholarship 2015/2016
It is with pleasure that we announce the 10th Annual Lynden
International Masonic Lodge Scholarship Awards Program for a
deserving Lynden High School student for the 2015/2016 school year.
A $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a qualified Senior
continuing his or her education. Requirements:
Academic Achievement of at least 3.0 or above GPA
Active participation in school, church and community service
US Citizen
Good character as demonstrated by evidence of hard work and
leadership
Application deadline – Noon on April 25. Return application to Mrs.
Williamson in the HSB Center. Application can be accessed through

R.B. LeCocq Foundation Memorial Scholarship The R.B. LeCocq
Foundation Memorial Scholarship is available to graduating seniors
from LCHS and LHS who plan to attend a four-year college.
Applications for a scholarship award will be considered and decided
upon by a committee of seven members who have been appointed by the
consistories of two Lynden churches, namely, Faith Reformed and
First Reformed. These two churches are designated as the trustees
of the R.B. LeCocq Foundation. Applicants need not be members of
the above churches. Application deadline is May 2. Application is
available through Career Cruising.

Lynden Lions Club Scholarship 2016
This year the Lynden Lions Club will award two $1,000 scholarships.
In keeping with their commitment of service to the community, the
Lynden Lions Club awards scholarships to individuals who have
demonstrated a high degree of community involvement. Because of the
organization's motto, “We Serve”, and their programs for those with
sight and hearing problems, priority will be given to those
applications fitting this criteria. If you are entering a field
that serves others, we encourage you to apply for the scholarship.

2016 Deming Logging Show Auxiliary Scholarship
The Deming Logging Show Auxiliary Scholarship honors two high
school seniors from a Whatcom County high school with a $300
scholarship. Scholarships are given for either college or
vocational-technical school. Scholarships are for students related
to people in the logging industry. Applications are available
through Career Cruising. Application deadline: May 4, 2016
Lynden High School Community Service Scholarship
Sponsored by Lynden Noon Kiwanis This scholarship opportunity is to
recognize students who have earned 100+ community service hours
during their four year high school career.
Community Involvement
Kiwanis Club of Bellingham
On behalf of the Kiwanis Club of Bellingham, I am pleased to
announce that Kiwanis Club of Bellingham will again offer
scholarships to Whatcom County High School seniors. Three
scholarships will be awarded this year. One will go to a student
enrolling in a four year school in the amount of $1000.00 and one
will be awarded to a student going to a Technical or Community
College in the amount $1000.00. The committee will also award a
third “Committees’ Choice” scholarship of $1000.00 The scholarship

applications must be received at the address below no later than
April 15, 2016 to be considered.
The Parent to Parent Support Programs provide emotional support and
information to families of children with developmental
disabilities, delays, and ongoing health care needs. Services
through Parent to Parent are:
Emotional support for parents of children with disabilities and
chronic illnesses
Information and referrals to community resources
“Helping Parents” trained to provide one-on-one support to other
parents who have a child with similar needs
Social and recreational events
Current information on disabilities, medical conditions and
community resources

Each year the Kiwanis Lynden Breakfast Club recognizes two
