HAWS Water Cooler Owners ManualINSTALLER PLEASE LEAVE WITH COOLER
This manual provides installation, maintenance and trouble shootingguide for the following basic water cooler models:
HF-4, -8, -10, -14 * HWS-4, -8 & 13HW-8, -14 HFX16W
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION
IMPORTANTI. Safety Precautions
A. Do not allow water to come into contact withlive electrical wires because short circuitingand shocks can occur.
B. WARNING Beware of rotating fans whencovers are removed.
C. Care should be taken not to puncture refrigera-tion system lines. Some lines contain gas underhigh pressure.
D. Install cooler to conform with all applicablecodes, including the National Electrical Code.
H. InstallationA. WATER SUPPLY The water cooler is fitted
with a 3/g F.PT. inlet fitting strainer, as shownon the installation drawings. Connecting linesmust be thoroughly flushed to remove all dirtand debris before connection to the copier.Warranty claims will not be accepted if the inletstrainer, coil or valve are blocked with foreignmatter. These coolers are fitted with a remote connec-tion. (Do not connect supply line to this fittingas.it will allow the inlet water to bypass thecooling coil; therefore not giving cold water atthe bubbler.)
B. DRAIN CONNECTION l1^' I.P.S. - The in-staller must provide a waste trap and install inaccordance to local codes.
C. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS 1. Check first to make sure electrical (supply)
voltage is the same as shown on the coolerserialnameplate. If not the same, do not con-nect to the electrical supply because majordamage could result.
2. The water cooler must be protectively grounded.Make sure the supply connection is providedwith a protective grounded wire. Do not usethe cooler if ground wire is not connected.
3. Connect the cooler only by the lead provided.Do not wire direct to the compressor.
D. VENTILATION To maintain proper ventilation.and correct func-
tioning of the water cooler a 4" clearance isrequired on each side of the cooler louvers.Failure to comply could cause the compressorto fail and therefore void the warranty.
E. INSTALLATION OF COOLERThe drawings provided with these instructionsshow the cooler dimensions, location of all therequired services and mounting instructions forthe wall hung models. The installer is respon-sible for providing the drain trap and shut offvalve.
F. CONDENSER FANBefore plugging unit into electrical supply makesure fan rotates freely. Failure to check free fanmovement can cause compressor failure, voidingthe warranty.
G. ADJUSTMENTSThe water flow cartridge and thermostat are setat the factory. Adjustments, if required, shouldbe done in accordance with these instructions(Maintenance] and by a trained technician.
III. MaintenanceA. GENERAL .
Any work carried out inside the cabinet (oncefront panel is rernoved) must be done by aqualified technician who is aware of thehazards.
B. MAINTENANCE1. For appearance and hygiene, it is recommended
that the top and cabinet be cleaned regularlywith a mild cleaning agent.
2. Keep the air flow vents clean and free frompaper, debris and dust to assure good operation
C. WATER FLOW ADJUSTMENTSAccess to the cartridge flow regulator is gainedby removing the front panel. (See drawing pro-vided). The location of the cartridge is in theupper left hand corner of the cabinet. Adjust-ments can be made through the hole providedwith a small screw driver. A clockwise rotationincreases the flow rate. An ideal stream heightis approximately 6" above top of drain receptor.Adjustments to this cartridge are not coveredby the warranty.
D. TEMPERATURE CONTROL THERMOSTATThis control is located inside front panel andis factory set at 45 F. For colder water, adjustthe screw in a clockwise direction.
E. STORAGE OF COOLER If location ofcooler is such that it is subjected to freezingtemperature, care should be taken to complete-ly drain the drinking water storage chamber.Water cooled models must also have the watercondenser coils completely drained.
WARRANTYWarranty certificate provided with the cooler tells what
to do in the unlikely event of a failure of your cooler. Ad-justment to flow ana water temperature are not covered bythe warranty. For detailed information concerning themaintenance and repair of your water cooler,* contact thefactory and request an instruction Manual.
