WATER BOTTLE ROCKET

Page 2: Water rocket .

1.- BOTTLES

We need two liters soda bottles.

Then, we cut one of the bottles, and we stuck both of them.

Page 3: Water rocket .

2.- FINS We made them with cardboard, and we

decorated it. After that, we measured the distance of the bottles to stick it correctly and when we finished we stuck them.

3- parachute

We took a rubbish bag, we cut it in different ways until we got the final result, our parachute.

3.- PARACHUTE

Finally…

We took eight threads and we put them on the parachute

As you see… it works!

MAKING OUR PARACHUTE

Cutting the rubbish bag Measuring the thread

Nose coneTo make the nose cone we used a blue cardboard. We folded it and we got the final nose cone.

We used some thread to hold it when the parachute opened.

5.- OUR “EGGSTRONAUT”

Instead of making an astronaut, We did an “eggstronaut” with an egg.

We wrapped it with a special paper because if we didn´t do this, it would break and our mission was to find it safe when it came down.

• When we were ready to launch our rocket, we pump it with the gauge and we decided to use 2 atmospheres:

• The weight of our rocket was 1.1 kg, so:

Weight = m · g = 1.1 · 9.8 N/Kg = 10,78 N

6.- CALCULATING

Page 10: Water rocket .

• In the first launch, we failed because the water went out, but at the second launch, we got it. The rocket took 1.40 s until the parachute opened and 1.20 s until it landed on the ground, and our egg was save.
