Dear Wave rider, following are more info’s on your new wave sail!

SWAG 2GWhen first launched in 2013, the 3 batten construction introduced with the SWAGrevolutionized the common understanding of sail design and pushing boundaries. Ultra light weight combined with a positive forward drive and complete neutral back hand pressure. The swag combines a healthy forward driven profile, with great stability and neutrality ideal for pure wave sailing.

PRO TUNING DESIGN

On every sail you will find a graphic like this. Next to it you will find 2 triangles. Theseare the real scale length you extension needs to be. So place your extension next to the triangles as in the graphic. This is the most accurate way to get the perfect length to set your extension. Point-7 sails can be tuned and adjusted using the Downhaul and Outhaul together. This means the more downhaul the more outhaul, the less downhaul the shorter your boom can be.

Downhaul. The Pro Tuning Design is the perfect extension length for the average downhaul settingfor your sail. You can pull 1-2 cm extra or less either side of this. The Leech of the sail should fall away as the graphics below dictate. After finishing downhaul you can stow the rope in the mesh pocket located on the inside of the tack fairing, located at the bottom of the luff pocket.

Batten Tension.Using the batten key stored in the mesh pocket in the tack fairing tension the battens until you have removed any vertical wrinkles around the batten pocket.

Only RDM masts can be used. The sail could work on every mast, but if you want to have the sail to work at 100% of it’s efficiency, a Point-7 mast is the reccommended choice.

Use top clew grommet for more reactive feel, and lower one for less power in the sail. Your sail feels heavy or unstable: 1.Put more downhaul on. 2.Apply more outhaul.Sail feels underpowered: Release outhaul and downhaul.Sail feels heavy on your front hand: 1.Move harness lines forward. 2.Release outhaulSail feels heavy on your back hand: 1.Move harness lines back. 2.Apply more outhaul.

Why do some sails use a short mast and longer extension? The sail will feel lighter in handling. The softer mast will better absorb chop and waves for more control in stronger winds. In light wind, the rig will feel lighter to pump to get on plane.

The Black metalized monofilm produced in the US, completely blocks the suns UV-Rays. The damaging effect of the UV, which normally burns transparent monofilm, is thus eliminated. The added metalized particles help to reflect heat from the sun and added thickness of the material guarantees durability. The overall look of the sails will therefore not change.

Rinse your sail after sailing on salty waters.

TIPS

POINT-7 BOOM

OuthaulPoint-7 wavesails require positive outhaul and have a tuning range of around 4cm. With the sail fully downhauled according to the wind strength, and the front of the boom connected to the mast, with out pulling on the clew, the back of the boom should be 3cm away from the clew (X to B). For the average setting, pull the sail right to the end of the boom(B). Note if you are under powered you can release tension from the boom by 2cm(A), or if over powered extend the boom by 2cm and apply more tension (C).
