Situated in the picturesque WaveneyValley, the Waveney House Hotelboasts a superb river location withstunning views across the surroundingcountryside.

Its peaceful setting is perfect forrelaxing yet is also close to the towncentre of Beccles with its shops, cafesand historic places of interest, makingit an ideal base for river activities ordiscovering the delights of the area.

Steeped in history, the hotel was builtin the early 16th Century during thereign of King Henry VIII. The firstowner William Rede I, was the firstLord of the Manor of Beccles, after theDissolution of the Monasteries. Thecurrent building retains a lot of theoriginal features of that period,including the vaulted oak-beamedceilings to the second flooraccommodation. This is combinedwith thoughtful and tasteful décor tocreate a charming atmosphere.

Parking is provided for those arrivingby car and moorings can be booked inadvance for those arriving by river.

The hotel offers 12 luxury bedrooms,all with en-suite bathrooms and each individually styled. Both theCrowfoot Suite and the Le Grys Suiteboast not only a four-poster bed, butalso exceptional views across theriver and Gillingham Marshes.

Other rooms either share the riverview or alternatively have a view ofthe Church of St Michael, famed forits tower being completely separatefrom the main body of the church.

Enjoy our superb restaurant cuisinein a quiet and relaxed atmosphereoverlooking the river. Our chef isonly too happy to discuss withyou any special dietary needs youmay have.

Unwind with a drink – ourconservatory allows you to enjoy theviews to the river and countryside inthe colder months whilst remainingwarm and dry. In warmer weathertake advantage of the river terraceand watch the boats go by.

FUNCTION FACILITIES

The Waveney Suite boasts its ownbar and lounge area, a spaciousdance floor and a stage. It forms the perfect venue for conferences,

meetings, weddings, birthdayparties, shows, keep fit classes,discos, wakes, christenings and anyspecial occasion you may have.The main function room can seat upto 130 people (depending on layout)

and approximately 200 peoplestanding or dancing. There is a largestage, complete with PA system. Also available are a keyboard, discolighting and a hardwood floor suitablefor dancing.

Standard equipment is included inyour conference suite hire charge –we can supply an overhead projector,television, video, flipchart, andscreen. In addition we can providestationery and various refreshmentsas required on the table for delegates.

Should you require an LCD projector,extra flipchart or 12ft x 12ft screen,they are available at a furthercharge, and must be booked in advance.

Should any delegates requireaccommodation, we are pleased to be able to offer rates for them on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

S P E C I A L E V E N T S

Valentines, Mothering Sunday,Christmas, New Year – we like tocelebrate in style, with speciallyselected menus and fine wines.

Why not create your own specialevent. Talk to our experiencedFunction Manager who will guideyou through the process.

We can cater for a full sit downmenu service, or buffets, to tea and biscuits.

The garden gazebo in the grounds isideal for photoshoots and beautifulviews of the river create backdropsfor your photographs.

Ample car parking is available in the grounds with additional publicparking in Puddingmoor.

The Waveney Suite Bar and Loungeadjoining the Main Suite can be hired separately and are ideal for smaller functions, comfortablyseating up to 25 people. The layoutfor each room can be arranged tosuit your own requirements. Hire of the rooms are available fromquarter day to a full day. A range of menus and themed refreshmentbreaks can be provided.
