THE APOSTLE’S CREED:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ his only son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead; and buried. The third day He arose from the dead, He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

HEALTH CORNERHEALTHY TIPS FOR THE WINTER: Flu season is here. Flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Wash your hands frequently. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Viruses are often spread after a person touches something that is contaminated with the virus and then touches his or hers eyes, nose or mouth. Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing. Dress warm when outside due to the cold weather. Young children, seniors and pets need extra precautions when they go outside. Pregnant women and infants are particularly at high-risk for serious complications from the flu. Keep a blanket, bottled water and healthy snacks in the car at all times. These suggestions are necessary in case of an accident or your battery goes dead. The Health Committee welcomes Dr. Valerie Lee to our group. Together we wish everyone a Happy New Year.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSDear Wayman family and friends,  Thank you so much for your many visits, cards, calls and your prayers during my stay at the nursing facilities and hospital visits.  I sincerely needed to feel that sense of family that you gave me.  Specials thanks to Rev Cooper and the Rev Mila Cooper for your prayers and visits. Damon Woods and all who prayed for me during my absence.  I am home now and doing better.  Thank you so very much Wayman! Mary B. Adkison and daughters.

Stewardship PrayerAlmighty God, all that I have comes from you and I thank you for your abundant blessings. I cheerfully bring my tithes and offerings as an act of worship, love, and obedience. Bless and consecrate these gifts for the advancement of your Kingdom. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

DISCIPLESHIP SEMINAR REVIEWFOURTH PLEDGE: I am a church member. I will pray for my pastor and church leaders every day. I understand that the pastor’s days are filled with numerous demands that bring emotional highs and lows. My pastor must deal with critics and must be a good spouse and parent. Because my pastor cannot do all things in his own power, I will pray for my pastor’s strength and wisdom daily. Likewise, I will pray for all church leaders that God will give them the strength and guidance they need to do the Lord’s will.
