WINSTON MAKES IMMEDIATE IMPACT FOR DONS: Freshman Taj Winston has made an immediate impact for San Francisco so far this season. The native of Long Beach earned her first career start against Loyola-Chicago marking the first time since Dec. 4, 2009 that a USF freshman guard earned a starting nod. This season, Win-stonhasaveraged9.3pointspergamewith5.8reboundspergame,includingan18-pointperformanceagainstSeattle.SincethestartagainsttheRedhawks,WinstonhasstartedallsixgamesfortheGreenandGold.Shehasalsorecordedfourgameswith10-pluspointsandonewithdouble-digitreboundingefforts.

ALE POSTS CAREER NIGHT: In her only collegiate game against her little sister - freshman Kristen Ale from Cal Poly - Rheina Ale tallied a career night. Against the Mustangs,theseniorguardwentoffforacareer-high27pointswithadozenreboundsforherfirstcareerdouble-double.The27pointsalsomarkedthefirsttimeinher career the native of Carson, Calif. has posted 20-plus points in consecutive games. At San Jose State, Ale posted a team-high 23 points as the Dons earned their first victory of the 2011-12 season.

KEATING BOOSTS HER SPOT IN THE RECORD BOOK:Thankstoanattackfromdeepovertheopeningweekendofplay,seniorKatyKeatingaspropelledherselfintothirdplaceintheall-timeUSFrecordbookfor3-pointbasketsmade.Keating,whoenteredtheseasonwith113basketsfrombeyondthearc,talliedfive3-pointbasketsagainsttheMatadorsandfourmoreagainsttheSpartansontheopeningweekendtolaunchherselfintoatieforthird.AtUCDavis,Keatingtallied18pointsthankstosixbasketsfromdeep.Themarkfelloneshortshyofthesinglegameschoolrecord,butnarrowedthedifferencebetweenherandsecondplace.Todate,Keatinghashit145 3-point baskets, just one shy of second place.
