straight year, ending a seven-game losing streak with a 65-60 victory at Concordia.NCU, who is just 1-6 at home this season, has a balanced scoring attack (seven differ-ent leading scorers this year), paced by Sheena Alexander (12. 3 ppg, 3.7 rpg), HopeWilliams (11.9 ppg, 8.2 rpg), and Lori Renner (9.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg). The Beacons are look-ing for their first win over Eastern Oregon ever Friday.
LAST TIME OUTThe College of Idaho women’s basketball team claimed the I-84 Cup with a 57-
53 win over No. 20 Eastern Oregon University. The Lady Yotes (10-7) (5-2) won theirsixth straight game over Eastern Oregon. A late steal and basket from Katelin Shannongave The C of I the lead for good, as the Lady Yotes ended on a 9-0 run. Hurlimanscored a game-high 19 points. The sophomore was 6 of 17 from the field and 5 for 13from behind the perimeter. Guthrie scored 11 points and added a game-high 7rebounds. Flett and Miller each threw four assists. The Mountaineers shot 33 percentfrom the field and 26 percent from three-point range. EOU entered the game rankedsecond in NAIA Div. 2 shooting 40 percent from behind the arc, but it was 7 of 26.
ABOUT THE WARRIORSTerry Williams’ squad has played well in the C.E. Jeffers Center this season,
recording a perfect 5-0 mark (including four wins by 20-or-more points) and can score atwill, averaging 74 points per game – but they allow 74 points a night. Player of the Yearcandidate, Katie Steigleman (20.7 ppg, 5.6 rpg) has led the team in scoring in nine-straight games, while being complimented by forward Tess Bennett (13.2 ppg, 7.1 rpg)and guard Janessa Miller (11.0 ppg, 6.4 rpg). The Warriors are 13th in the nation inoffensive rebounds per game (15.9).

EUGENE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team clinched it's seventh consecutive home playoff game with a 60-51 victory at Northwest Christian University Saturday.
The Mountaineers (17-9) (11-5) were led by Tana Stickney's 19 points and six rebounds. The senior was 8 for 13 from the field off of the bench. Kyle Miller added 11 points. The sophomore scored in double figures for the 18thtime in her short collegiate career. Miller added a game-high four assists.
Northwest Christian jumped out to a seven-point lead five minutes into the game. But,EOU responded with a run and led 32-22 at halftime. Eastern's largest lead was 15points with 2:14 left in regulation.
The Beacons (8-18) (2-15) fell for the eighth consecutive time. NCU was led by KatieMonteith's 14 points. Calie McVicker went 5 for 7 and added 11 points.
Eastern held the Beacons to 36 percent shooting from the field, and shot 43 percentthemselves. The Mountaineers outscored Northwest Christian in the paint, 34-14, andoff of the bench, 36-15. Both teams committed 14 turnovers.

LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team used a big second half to defeat Corban College, 78-64, in Friday's Cascade Conference semifinals.
With the victory the Mountaineers (20-10) clinched a berth in Monday's conference championship game and the CCC's second automatic berth in the NAIADiv. 2 National Tournament.
Kyle Miller's game-high 18 points paced EOU. The sophomore was 2 for 7 from the field, but 14 for 16from the free throw line. Tana Stickney added 12 points, and Salena Leavitt and Shaylee Nielsen each had 10 respectively. Leavittadded five assists, and Stickney had a same-high eight rebounds.
Both teams got off to a slow start, Corban shot 30 percent in the first half and Easternshot 28 percent. But, the semifinalists got things going in the second half. The Warriorsfinished shooting 43 percent, while EOU was 40 percent from the field in the game.
The first half was close as Corban never let Eastern Oregon get too far ahead. TheWarriors had their last lead with 6:21 remaining in the first half, 17-16. TheMountaineers closed the half on a 12-4 run and led at halftime, 28-21.

NEW START TIMES FOR 2010-11A new doubleheader format featuring
men’s and women’s teams alternating timeslots in conference play headlines the releaseof the 2010-11 Cascade CollegiateConference men’s and women’s basketballschedules, CCC commissioner Dave Haglundannounced.
The first half concludes Jan. 15; thesecond half runs from Jan. 21 to Feb. 19.The CCC recently voted to modify the struc-ture of its conference doubleheaders, whichhistorically have featured the women playingat 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.Beginning with the upcoming campaign, gen-ders will split the two time slots. In the firsthalf of conference play in 2010-11, men willplay at 5:30 p.m. and women at 7:30 p.m.; inthe second half, the genders will flip timeslots. Men’s and women’s teams will flip theirplaying orders on a yearly basis.
