Used especially with Teflon(PTFE) gaskets.Teflon (PTFE) is chemically inert and sopreferred in many applications. However, whena connection using a Teflon (PTFE) gasket isheated up and then cooled, it will leak. Themetal expands when it is heated, whichcompresses the gasket. When the system iscooled, the metal contracts, but the Teflon(PTFE) does not return to its original size (nomemory) and the connection leaks.The LIVE LOADED nut fits on standard S-Line clamps (5/16" - 18 thread). This nut consistsof a two-piece outer housing, in which iscontained a quantity of specially constructedsprings.
