Principal’s Message
Throughout this term we have been exploring a passage in Hebrews
Chapter 10. Much of it has spoken of the need to be fellowshipping
with other believers and looking out for ways in which we can bless
and encourage each other. I have mentioned in these articles that
we are created as relational beings and it is good to enjoy healthy
relationships with each other as well as with our Heavenly Father.
Last weekend, many of us took the opportunity to fellowship together at the
Wyong Community Family Fair held on the school and church grounds on Saturday
afternoon. Members of the Wyong Baptist Church and our school community came
together for a great afternoon of fun and activity. However, we also drew people
in from the wider community and it was great to provide an environment that was
both welcoming and friendly for people who may not normally visit a Christian
church or school.
In 1 John 3:1, we read “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that
we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” This is followed in
Chapter 4 with “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one
another”.
The Fair was a wonderful opportunity to let people who might not have ever
experienced the love of God personally come into a community where love for
others could be demonstrated in practical ways. Games and activities for the
children and places to sit and enjoy each other’s company were all hall marks of
what proved to be a wonderful day.
Thank you to those who were able to come along and participate on Saturday and
for the many hands that worked tirelessly to bring such an event together. Who
knows what God may do in the lives of some who dropped in that day, who may
have never seen community done well. Your welcoming smile or friendly
directions, or that short conversation could just be the connection that was
required to engage someone with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Community done well and love for others in response to Christ’s love for us is
something that many people rarely see these days. It was a joy to see it on
Saturday and I hope that for those who attended it was as uplifting for you as it
was for me.
God bless,
Ian Liney

Praise God for a fantastic Wyong Community Family Fair on Saturday. Praise God for a great turn out,
great weather and for the team of volunteers who organised and contributed to the event. Pray for
those non-Christian families who visited our Church and school grounds for the first time. Pray that
they will be challenged by the outpouring of love experienced during their time at the fair, and that
they can continue to make connections with our community and God’s greater kingdom.
Pray for those in our community who are going through difficult times. Pray for strength, perseverance
and peace to work through these concerns.
Pray for our upcoming Mission Trips to Samoa and Rwanda. Pray
that all the organisation and planning that has gone into these
trips comes together under God’s hands.
Pray for our Year 8 students, parents and staff who will be
completing the annual Year 8 Hike. Pray for good weather, safety,
and opportunities for fellowship between students.

This Easter Celebration has been going on for over 20 years. It had been going under the name of ‘Jesus
March - The Awakening’ and some people know it as the ‘Easter Sunday March’, but now it goes by the
name ‘Sydney Easter Parade & Family Day’. It is a time of celebration, where people from all different
denominations, different ethnic heritage and different age groups, come together to celebrate the
resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The Parade is an opportunity for all Christians to rise up and unite to be a strong voice in our city. No matter
what denomination you belong to, no matter what worship style you have, let us all come under one
banner… under the banner of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Middle School News Assessment Tasks Due
BYOD Protection In recent weeks I have had to deal with a number of devices that have broken at school. Some of these breaks could possibly have been avoided by a little more protection of the device, such as a padded sleeve for the device. There are some protection sleeves that are available for reasonable prices on eBay or at any retailer who sells laptops/iPads. The sleeves need to be well fitted to the device. Many students are bringing in their devices with no layer of protection, and whilst the padded sleeves will not prevent breakage in extreme circumstances, they may help should the device be dropped or in a bag that is knocked over, etc.
Year 8 Hike
Please be aware that our Year 8 students need to be at school by 6:45am next Tuesday morning, as we
head off for the Year 8 Hike. Please stay tuned to the WCCS Facebook, Twitter and School App for updates
on how the hike is progressing and for the ETA on Thursday afternoon.
At this stage, the weather is looking favourable. Let’s keep praying for this.
Help Raising Teenagers
Each fortnight I will include a resource that may help parents deal with different issues in raising your young
adolescent. These resources are produced my Michael Grose, a well known psychologist who specialises in
adolescent development. Please see the next page for this fortnight’s resource—Assertiveness.

Many students ran the whole distance at a very good pace, some shuffled along and others were keen for a social jog/walk with friends. It was great to see so many “Celebrity Runners” encouraging students along the way. The sprinklers and drink station were definitely highlights for all competitors.
