DNS : - A well configured and running DNS to resolution of name and to configuration of Active Directory.

DHCP : - A configured DHCP Server to provide IP address to client for Communication with WDS Server.

Domain Controller : - To provide Authentication to the WDS Client and Authorization to the DHCP Server.

NTFS Volume : - For Security and Installation of Domain Controller (Domain Controller can not be loaded on FAT Volume).

PXE LAN Card : - It stands for Pre-boot Execution Environment. These type LAN card has the inbuilt Driver in their memory. Therefore It gets the IP address before Installation of Operation System.

Network Connection : - Network must be configured properly to received the Installation files and folder from WDS Server.

Go to on Run and then Key Servermanager.msc and then Press Enter.

Point to Roles and then Click on Add Roles.

And press Next to continue.

In Select Server Roles page Select Windows Deployment Services from the Bottom of List.

And then Click Next to continue

On the Overview of Windows Deployment Services click Next to execute

On the Select Role Services page make sure that the Both (Deployment Server & Transport Server) are selected

And then Click Next to continue

On confirm Installation Selections page click Install to install the WDS Services.

In the Installation Results page click Close to close the page.

To Configure the WDS press Windows + r key together to open Run.

Then key wdsmgmt.msc to open WDS Management page.

Click OK.

Expand Server and then Right Click on FQDN of Server (ex. Server.Contoso.

com)

And then click on Configure Server.

Welcome Page will be displayed where the server side requirement will be listed.

Click Next to continue

In the Remote Installation Folder Location page by default C:\

RemoteInstall will be Selected

Click Next if you want to save the folder on the C:\ Drive. Otherwise Browse the Location.

A System Volume Warning message will be display if you select the C:\ Drive to store the Remote Installation files.

Click Yes to Terminate the warning.

Make sure that both Options are selected in the DHCP Option 60 page. And then click Next to continue.

On the PXE Server Initial Settings page select “Respond to all (known and unknown ) client computers” and then click Finish.

Remove the Check mark from “Add image to the Windows Deployment Server now” in Configuration Complete page.

And then click Finish.

After the Finishing the last page.

Expand the FQDN of Server (ex. Server.contoso.com)

Right Click on Install Image.

Click on Add Install Image.

In the Image Group Page give a Group Name next to Create a new image group or Let them same.

And click Next to continue.
