A Message from Fr. Brian

Twenty-Fourth SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME September 12, 2021

Why Is It Important to Register With the Parish ?

At various times in a Catholic’s life, it is beneficial that you be able to show that you are a “practicing Catholic.” This is possible by confirming your parish registry.

Here are some of the situations to which this may apply: Marriage in the Church

Baptism of a Child School Registration of a Child

Becoming a Godparent or Sponsor

We urge you to: Register at the Rectory or online. Inquire about using your talents for the good of the parish.

Use your Sunday envelopes so that your generosity can be recorded to show your parish activity and for your yearly income tax purposes.

My dear brothers and sisters, We hear in the Gospel, “You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do." We all know that God calls us to follow Him, but often times, our ways are not the same as God ways. God always has a better plan for us. However, God challenges Peter and us today by telling us that if want to follow Jesus fully and completely, there are times when we will have to suffer. There are those times when we must “take up our cross”, and follow Jesus. Most of us do not want to suffer or be hurt, but rather, we try to find other ways around the pain. We become selfish, and prideful. That is not what Jesus wants. He calls us to live a life of generosity and of self-denial. That is what He did and that is what He wants us to do. My prayer for you today is that you may faithfully follow the path of Christ with love of God and each other by embracing our daily crosses. May the Lord bless you and keep you close to His Sacred Heart. I am Sincerely, yours in Christ, Fr. Brian

Did you know? September 11-12 || What to do if you are worried about family abduc-tion

Family abduction happens when a child is taken or hidden by one family member from another, against custody or visitation rights. In some circumstances, family abduction is considered a crime, and can be prosecuted. If you are worried about a possible fam-ily abduction, you can take action. Have a valid custody agreement that outlines who can see or take your child, and when. Advise your child’s school or daycare about cus-tody arrangements, including who can and cannot pick up your child. For more infor-mation, visit missingkids.org/theissues/familyabduction.
