Our Presbyterian ancestors sung ONLY Psalms for many, many years. We sing Psalm 65 today as a way of remembering their witness and their worship. This setting of Psalm 65 comes from Psalms for All Seasons, a psalter with multiple musical settings of the psalms in different styles.
Translated from the Latin: “the church reformed is always reforming.” As Christians in the Reformed Tradition, our calling is to continually look to God to improve and advance the mission of the church.

Our affirmation of faith comes from 1998. It is from a study catechism. Presbyterians have always been committed to education in all its forms. Catechisms are study tools by which the core principles of our faith are explained and taught.
This hymn, based on Psalm 46, was written by Martin Luther. Part of his reformation was found in getting the people to sing their faith as the body of Christ. The tune name is taken from the German: Ein’feste burg ist unser Gott which is translated, “a mighty fortress is our God.”
