Surface treatmentViledon® filter products are state of the art for surface treatment technol-ogy. Installed in ceiling filters or for intake, exhaust or recirculating air filtration in paint shops and paint spray booths, these filters guarantee practically 100 % arrestance of particles that could cause damage to the painted surface. Viledon® Compact pocket filters effectively collect the main dust content at the prefilter stage. Viledon® MaxiPleat cassette filters ensure effective paint mist arrestance, particularly in modern recir-culating air plants at paint shops. Adhesive-coated Viledon® ceiling filter mats function as a safety filter to prevent potentially damaging dust

and fiber particles from penetrating into the paint spray zone, thereby ensuring a mirror-smooth finish. Viledon® HT high-temperature filters are invaluable for efficient and reliable filtration in paint drying booths.

Contamination controlContamination control is designed to ensure optimum HVAC solutions for man, machine and processes. Typical applications in intake, exhaust and recirculating air filtration for HVAC equipment include offices, com-puter rooms and switchboards. In this field, Viledon® pocket filters and Viledon® NanoPleat cassette filters produce excellent performance. A modern alternative to these classic particle filters are combination filters like the Viledon® DuoPleat – apart from particle filtration, these filters also remove unpleasant odors.

The highest standards of air purity and a fully germ-free environment are required in cleanrooms. Optimum air filtration ensures the reliable collection of germs and particles – particularly in the pharmaceutical industry when manufacturing medicines or in the chemical industry for producing active substances. Furthermore, the contamination of neigh-boring zones through air-borne particles or germs must be prevented. Viledon® HEPA / ULPA filters are invaluable in this context.

TurbomachineryParticle soiling in the intake air is an important factor affecting the op-eration and efficiency of gas turbines and turbocompressors. Viledon® air filters prevent any damage to the blading or any dust encrustations and fouling on the blades themselves. Viledon® offers various solutions to suit different applications: MaxiPleat filters and Compact pocket fil-ters as well as depth-loading or surface-loading filter cartridges are popular choices for on- and offshore applications.

Emission controlThe right choice of filter or filter combination is crucially important for the effectiveness of any dust removal system. Thanks to our comprehen-sive know-how, we can develop customized dust removal concepts for environmental protection, workplace safety, system protection or pro-duct recovery. Based on an analysis of existing dust removal problems and processes, we custom design Viledon® filter media plus products which can be varied in terms of their structural shape, overall height, nominal diameter and pleat geometry. So there is plenty of scope for solving almost every collection problem.

Air quality controlThrough the acquisition of UK-based Filtration Engineering Limited (FEL), Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has expanded its specialist competence in the field of air quality control systems at all stages from design through installation to air quality control management. FEL has developed environmental and process air systems for all major food manufacturers in Britain and our service teams are active throughout the UK. Apart from technical support, our core competences also include consultancy and energy conservation, which is gaining in importance in the food industry. We have a noticeable presence in sectors such as food, pharmaceutical, paper and general building.

Viledon® eee.SyToday’s economic and environmental mega-trends call for massive im-provements in the efficient use of existing energy sources. Viledon® eee.Sy stands for “energy-efficiency-enhancement system”. This is a turnkey sys-tem for enhancing the energy efficiency of intake air systems for turbines and compressors. Freudenberg Filtration Technologies provides its cus-tomers with a system suited to modern industrial-scale applications.

Filter testingOur filters are put through their paces in our Filter Testing Department using state-of-the-art test rig technologies. Besides the usual tests in ac-cordance with national and international standards, each filter is also subjected to our own specific tests conducted under much more rigor-ous conditions. These special tests are developed by our test engineers to check compliance with the specific requirements of very diverse ap-plications. They include exposing the filters to atmospheric dusts, soot and synthetic fine dusts under intensified flow and moisture conditions or higher dust concentrations, tests conducted under extreme climate con-ditions and many, many more. To supplement these laboratory tests, the filters are also tested under real conditions, and only then is the develop-ment of a new filter regarded as concluded. This performance data provides valuable knowledge that also forms the basis of our continu-ous product development and optimum customer service.

Viledon® academyThe Viledon® academy gives our customers access to the latest develop-ments in the world of filtration and to state-of-the-art knowledge. Train-ing courses and technical tours provide practical experience and theo-retical background know-how on developing, testing and manufacturing filtration solutions and on all aspects of filtration, ventilation, hygiene technology and maintenance.

Viledon® engineeringViledon® engineering offers a complete service and installation program, including all components, for the new construction or rebuilding of air filter systems, particularly in the areas of indoor climate control, machine process air and intake air filtration for turbo-machines. Our individually specified service packages include the design of filter systems, quotations using 3D-CAD drawings, analyses of economic viability, consultancy and order processing.

Nonwovens for membrane support: novatexxThe Viledon® novatexx range includes customer-specific filtration media for fluids in the food and other industries and products for the manufac-ture of membranes and filter cartridges. In many cases, polymer-based membranes need additional reinforcement to withstand the loads faced in production, processing and service. We offer a wide range of top-quality nonwovens which have been tried and tested as support and drainage media.

Oil and fuel filtration: pluratexxThe innovative Viledon® pluratexx oil filter media represent a quantum leap in engine oil filtration for modern, high-performance engines. In terms of service life and efficiency, these fully synthetic materials clearly outperform the cellulose papers traditionally used in oil and fuel filters. Smaller filters can be used at the same time as extending service inter-vals. Pluratexx, which is made from 100 % thermally bonded polyester fibers, offers greater resistance to aggressive high-performance motor oils than conventional filter materials.

Pool and spa filtration: hydrotexxEspecially for the North American market, we offer Viledon® hydrotexx filter media for pools and spas. Thanks to its innovative two-component fiber structure, hydrotexx ensures outstanding filtration performance. While the pure polyester core provides stability and durability, the outer layer consists of a special polyester polymer cross-linked to produce a firm fabric. Viledon® hydrotexx is resistant to all the detergents used at pools and spas.

Coolant and lubricant filtration: cooltexxFreudenberg offers Viledon® cooltexx nonwovens for the filtration of coolants and lubricants in a wide range of application-specific types for all vacuum, pressure and gravity belt filter systems, in all the typical roll widths and lengths. In terms of filter fineness, fiber type and structure, Viledon® filter media are matched to the machining processes involved, the materials concerned and the various process fluids including emul-sions and oils, as well as washing, phosphating and coagulation baths.

In liquid filtration, Freudenberg sets global quality and product standards with its Viledon® brand. Our solutions are tailored specifically to the needs of filter and membrane manufacturers, for example for coolant and lubricant, oil and fuel, food and
