The concert is free and we encourage you to invite your friends and family. Dr. Sarah Herrington directs the Singing Women of West Texas group. We have 6 ladies from Shallowater that sing with the group and 4 are from our church. You don’t want to miss this wonderful event. CINDY HUGHLETT CONCERT: Cindy Hughlett, singer songwriter, will be in concert here at First Baptist Church on October 13th, at 5:00 PM in the Worship Center. Cindy has been honored as 2012 Agape Fest Female Vocalist of the Year, ICGMA Duo of the Year with David House and 2012 Christian Voice CGM Album of the year. Cindy is from Lubbock, Texas and included in her band are our own, Bobby Price, R.D. Carlile and Michael Whited. Come hear the concert and bring a friend. Your kids are invited to this special service just for them on Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM. We are in need of parents or volunteers who would love to help in teaching kids great and powerful Bible truths. Please call Julie Batten at 535-7641 if you are interested in helping in any way. GENTLY USED ITEMS NEEDED FOR KIDS DAY OUT: Our Kids Day Out program needs gently used pack and plays, and rocking chairs. WEDNESDAY NIGHT SCHEDULE: 6:10 PM Pizza served in the ROC (Please note: the price of the pizza will be .50 cents a slice.) 6:30 PM Worship in the Worship Center. FRIDAY NIGHT HOME GAME TAIL GATE PARTIES: All students are invited to a tail gate party at 5 PM in the high school parking lot at each home game. It will be a great time of fellowship and fun. ENCORE FIRST MONDAY: is October 7th at 10:30am in the ROC. Our guest speaker will be Marsha Sharp, former Lady Raider coach. She will be speaking on “Fear Makes Cowards of Us All”. The meal for the day is steak, baked potato, salad, tea and dessert. The cost of the meal is $5.00. Please contact the church office for reservations for the meal at 832-4511 by October 4th.

KIDS DAY OUT: It is time for pre-registration. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Kids’s Day Out program for the 2013-2014 year please contact Gayle Burgett. (548-2127 or gayle @firstshallowater.org) We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will begin on September 3rd.

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

How to Become a Christian!  

How to Join the Church!  If you would like to join our church, please fill out the card below. You can make your commitment by coming forward during the song of commitment after the sermon and visiting with one of our pastors or by placing the card in the offering plate and one of our pastors will contact you. You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
