Apart from donating £1.00 to wear your wellies there are many ways you can fundraise for us on the day. We have put some ideas down below but we think you will come up with some great ones too!

Don’t forget to send us some photos of you wearing your wellies so we can post them on our website.

Plant a welly:

Plant an old welly with bee and butterfly friendly plants (ideas available from www.welshwildlife.org/2011/create-a-nectar-cafe).

Plant these wellies in your work outdoor space, playgrounds or community spaces to encourage wildlife in.

Our mascot, Pertwee the Puffin, is showing his support by wearing his wellies to work this May, why not join him or even meet up with him at our Welsh Wildlife Centre Saturday 2nd June for a Wild Welly Wildlife Walk

Contact Llinos Richards on 01239 621600 to book your place

Thank you to Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust for the use of their original idea and the Wellies for Wildlife logo.

Hold a sporting event: Why not organise a game of rounders, welly throwing competitions or even a game of welly rugby on the day?

Design a welly:On the last page of the fundraising pack you will find a welly template. Why not design your very own welly, for 50p you can enter our competition. Entries to be received by the 8th of June and you could win a wildlife goody pack.Entries to [email protected] Nature Centre, Fountain Road,Parc Slip, Tondu, BridgendCF32 0EH

Wildlife Welly Wishing Line

Throw your money into the wishing well-y and make a wildlife wish. Write your wish on the welly template and peg it on a wishing line.

Not only is this a fun activity, it will give the children (and adults) a chance to think about what they really want for their local wildlife.

We would love to know what weird and wacky wishes come out of the wishing well-y and we can post them on our website and feature them in our newsletter. Please email [email protected] any wishes.

In addition to the fun there is a serious message to our campaign.Protecting local wildlife and wild places is all our responsibilities. We have a role to play in providing everyone with access to enjoy and benefit from our local nature.

We really hope you decide to fundraise for us, please contact us if we can help in any way.
