The weaver was producing the Govt. supply sarees. and was able to weave3/4 saree only per day. She could earn around Rs.50 only wages for a day.It was not sufficient to feed his family.
The Provision of Pedal loom helped her to increase in productivity and nowShe is able to produce 3 to 4 sarees per day, that too, after attending all hishouse works. Thus, She could now earn around Rs.5000 to 6000/- permonth.
In the handlooms on which I worked for somany years, I could be able to earnRs.1500/- only @ Rs.50/- day by weaving 2sarees in 3 days. We spent our life hand tomouth.
The provision of Pedal looms under thescheme helped me very much to increasemy earning by triple. Now, I am contendvery much with my earning.

This weaver, by hereditary, is doing the weaving work for
the past 30 years. Currently, the weaver is undertaking the
production of Tamilnadu Govt. Priceless Scheme Sarees for the
past 10 years.
In spite of hard working using both the hands and legs
continuously, he could earn around Rs.60/- to Rs.80/- only as
wages per day .
On receipt of Pedal loom under the VMHC Scheme, the
weaver now is earning Rs.300/- to Rs.400/- per day that too with
very little strain to his legs and hands.

I used to weave heavy floraldesigns which took me usally 7 daysfor completing a saree. Thepressing of treadle to lift theJacquard hareness of this heavyfloral designs imposed heavy painon my legs and I used to take restintermittently during my work.
Instead of previous 4 sareesper month, with the help of thismachine, now I am able to weave 5sarees per month which gave me25% increase in my monthlyearning. Instead of hard pressing oftreadle by using my entire foot to liftthe hareness, I am now able to lift thesame by mere pressing of smalltreadle with my finger. Really, this isa boon to my job.
The Motorised JacquardLifting which I received underVirudhunagar Mega HandloomCluster Scheme helped me tocomplete the weaving my heavyfloral Silk Saree within 5 days, thattoo wihout any strain / pain to mylegs. This machine is useful verymuch to weave heavier designsarees which, otherwise would bequite painful to weave by usingtradiwtional foot treadle.

The Electrical Pirn Winding Machineprovided under the scheme helped meenormously in reducing strain on myhands. With this machine, I couldcomplete the works quickly and leisurely
I could spare more time for my houseworks.
The Weaver was previously working with Manual Pirn winding
machine for winding the weft yarn.
The manual winding imposed stress on the right hand of the
weaver due to continuous rotational movement given to the
winding machine handle.
The Electrical Pirn Winding machine provided under the
scheme helped her to increase the productivity by double
resulting in reduction of winding time.
The Weaver is very happy about that she could complete the
weft winding very quickly without any strain to her hands.
