Pray for our Growth TogetherPlease continue to pray for growth in our Christian community

Thought for this week…..by Rev. Michelle Martin A few weeks ago in Messy Church, we made Pentecost crowns; crowns of bright colours with lots of glitter (which caused quite a mess - whoops) and brightly coloured trailing tissue paper. We also asked the children whether they could speak any different languages – we had lots of children speaking in different

languages, all at the same time! They were all excited, and it was complete chaos! In fact, we couldn’t get them quiet again for the rest of the session! Children have a very unique way of bringing stories alive to us. As you read, or listen to, the story of Pentecost this weekend (Acts 2: 1 – 21), try and imagine yourself in that crowd – the bustling and excitement, the confusion, the things you were seeing and hearing – the gradual realisation that God is doing something new, something so amazing that even now we struggle to grasp it. The coming of the Holy Spirit has turned all that we know on its head – changing the order of things, doing the impossible, leading people to Christ and bringing new life. This is the same Holy Spirit that lives in us – we need not be afraid. God has given us everything we

need to serve him in this world, and it begins with his very presence within us; the guidance and wisdom of His Spirit. Amen.
