It is fantastic to see so many of you producing spectacular work, please keeping asking parents to send in your work so we can share it with the rest of the school! As usual, this week is below. There are some reading links too (online), as I imagine some of you will be running out of books at home by now! Have a nice week – as usual your parents have our email addresses if needed. It is nice to hear from them and you. School message: We have provided some guidelines for your child’s home learning. We appreciate that these are stressful times for all involved. Where possible, please encourage your child to complete the learning outlined below. We appreciate that in some cases this may not be possible. Please try your best and don’t get too worried about it. Most importantly stay safe and enjoy this time with your family. French - Daily routine at school.

This week we will be learning about the daily school routine in France, it is very similar to ours in England. Watch the clip below, and see if you can practice the vocabulary as it comes up on the video. Pause it at each word that is written on the screen, and listen and repeat after the characters. This will help with your pronunciation of the words.

Last week you kept a diary of all the foods that you ate over the duration of a week.

This week we want you to use this information to try and work out what type of food groups you are eating.

We want you to classify the foods you ate into these categories:

Carbohydrates/Grains

I hope you did well on last week’s spelling practise. See Resources Week 4 – Spelling.

This week: Have a go at correcting these spellings.

Step 1: Try to sound out the word and use our classroom technique to spell the word correctly or get as close as

possible.

As I’m sure you have seen, Joe Wicks is doing daily exercise classes - have a look and try one! You don’t have to do this

at 9:00 each morning – they are always there for you to look at.

Christians believe Jesus came to Earth to get people into heaven but also to make the world more like heaven. Jesus told stories (called parables) about the ‘kingdom of God’ or the ‘kingdom of heaven’ to explain this idea. For Christians, the kingdom of God is where God rules – not a geographical place, but in human hearts and minds, in their everyday lives and communities. Jesus commanded them to love thy God and love your neighbour.  Can you find some of the ‘kingdom parables’ to find out what the ‘kingdom of God’ is meant to be like. Here are some examples:  • The Feast: Luke 14:12–24. (Put this into

Vegetables FruitsProteinsDairyFats Sweets

In order to do this, you will need to remind yourself what types of food belong in each class. Use the Resource Week 4 – Science to help you.

Write down all the different foods you have eaten in a list. Now you will identify the correct food group for each food by writing next to it which food group it belongs in.

For Example:

1. Milk – Diary 2. Bacon – Protein

The main learning point here is:

EXAMPLE: The first word spelt incorrectly is :

according

Sound out:

Ac - cord - ing

What did you notice?

That’s right, there is a strong ‘C’ sound which means it needed an extra C.

Step 2: Mark you work by using this online dictionary

Step 3: Give yourself a score out of 8.

If you do not have a printer, it is okay to just write the words down

on paper J

Extension: Can you use these words in your own sentence. Have

some fun with this.

Example: According to Mum, I don’t have to clean my room for a week!

REMEMBER: You should also be continuing with last week’s spellings – keep practicing the year 3 and 4 words, followed by the year 5 and 6

a search engine and you will find the new international version of the bible story)Who would you invite to a feast? Who does Jesus say will be included? How does Jesus want his followers then and now to behave?

Can you classify the foods you have been eating?

Extra Challenge: Finally, think about how you could record your results. You could use/create a line graph, pie chart to show which groups you are eating more or less of.
