Writing Newspaper report
Watch the video and pretend you were actually there at one of the first Olympic Games ever held in ancient Greece. Write a newspaper report about what happened.
What is the year? Who created them? Why did they decide to do them? Which events were held? What did you see? What happened when someone won an event?

Test out objects around your house using a magnet and find out which are magnetic and which are not. You can present your findings in a creative way of your choice: a table, pictures, photographs, poster, Picollage etc.

Talk with an adult about any special places you have. All these things are true because God is there. Take a look at the two PowerPoints if you have access:

Write down your special places: at home, school, local area and in the world and describe why they are special to you. Use this sheet:
Design and Technology Geography HistoryDesign a magnetic game
You can use your creativity to design and even possibly make a magnetic game. It is up to you how you wish to do this. You may need to research some ideas online first. Decide which materials you will need and sketch a design then label it. Use the template in the resources at the end of the pack to help you with your design.
If you can source your materials you could try to make it too. Think about how you will score to win and play your game with your family.
Map of ancient Greece
Using websites and online images try to complete the following task (larger version in the resource pack):
1) Label the Ionian Sea, Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea
2) Label Mount Olympus, with a small ∆
3) Colour the lands that make up Ancient Greece purple.
4) Label Athens, Sparta, Crete and Troy.
Ancient Greece:
Create your own game of Top Trumps based on Greek Gods and Goddesses or mythological creatures.
Use the template or draw your own. How will you rate them? Think about date, power, strength, bravery. You will need to research them to be sure of how to rate them.
Play your game with your family afterwards – adults can check the rules for Top Trumps online if you are unsure.
Art PSHE&C In the World…Mosaics
This week we would like you to explore Greek mosaics. What were they made from? What did the Greeks use to create them? What did they create pictures of?
Create your own mosaic based on what you find out. You may use small squares of coloured paper or something else… We look forward to seeing your pictures.
Feeling Happy
We all like to feel happy, don't we? Being happy is one of the ways we stay healthy. What are the other ways? Somewhere you feel happy and relaxed. Mine is in my garden. Draw your happy place and write words to describe how you feel when you are in your happy place. Children’s art week
This week is Children’s art week (which is actually running for 3 weeks!)
Week 1 is all about the natural world.
Select as many activities from the list below as youd like to complete at home:
Sketch/draw/shade/paint/pastel/collage pictures of: Landscapes, Animals, Sea life, Flowers/plants or Fruit/vegetables
Collect leaves and twigs and produce a collage on paper
