Week of: September 28, 2020 Grade Level: Kindergarten PYP Unit and Central Idea: Who We Are- Roles and responsibilities help us make connections. Prioritized Standards Addressed This Week: Math MGSEK.CC.1 Count to 100 by ones and by tens. MGSEK.CC.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality. MGSEK.CC.2 Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1). Reading/ ELA ELAGSEKRL10: ELAGSEKRF3: Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. ELAGSEKRL1: With prompting and support, ask and answer questions about key details in a text Science/ Social Studies SSKCG1 The student will demonstrate an understanding of good citizenship. a. Explain how rules are made and why. b. Explain why rules should be followed. Phonics: Circle the lowercase letter j that is written correctly on the lines. After, draw a picture of something that begins with the letter J

Reading: Underline and record yourself reading the words that you can read on the page

Reading: Celebrate your growth as a reader! Record yourself reading any book with an adult or friend.

Writing: Reread your teaching pages so far with a partner or by yourself. Think of questions that you haven’t answered about your topic and write a new page to answer those questions. Take a picture of your new writing from today.

Student Independent Practice- Asynchronous via Seesaw Phonics: Decide if each word should start with a K or a C by looking at the first vowel. Draw the correct letter in front of the word.

Writing: Work on your teaching book. You can add to your old pages or start a new one. Make sure to really stretch out the words that you are writing. Take a picture for Seesaw and circle the words that you really stretched out.
