We are continuing with Macbeth but moving on to area in Maths. In our school bubbles we are starting a History project! The children in school will be learning about World War 1 and World War 2 and we want to share this learning with you at home! These tasks are for you to do whenever you can and everything will be on our wordpress blog for you to dip in to! We are reading War Horse by Michael Murpurgo, watching Goodnight Mister Tom (ask your parents if you can watch this at home) and learning about the changes and the impact 2 world wars had on Great Britain. Check out our shared Year 5 & 6 youtube page and wordpress blog for videos and tasks! Keep working hard- it will pay off! Try to maintain focus on your work and set times for yourself to take breaks without procrastination (distraction). You are halfway through the week – keep it up! This task should take 20 minutes.

We are reaching the final part of Macbeth!What a story! In this part of the story, Macbeth is told that “no man born of a woman can harm you.”Macbeth hears this, believes that all men are born from a woman so he is safe! He is convinced no man can harm him. He returns to feeling confident!Can you think of any way a man could harm Macbeth?

It also says that “Birnam Wood will walk to Dunsinane.” Again, Macbeth believes this is impossible. He regains more confidence.Can you think of a way a wood could move location – towards Macbeth?

SPAG Task

This task should take around 30 minutes

Setting the sceneIf you have completed the English task you have read up to the part where we learn of poor Banquo’s fate. You have had some practise using dialogue and adding a description in your sentences.

Your task is to write a scene of dialogue between Banquo and his son before they are attacked. Try and include these four criteria and colour code where you have used an example.

Here is the first part of your sentence to start you off.Out on the heath, night was falling. Banquo and his son Fleance had been hunting and were on their way back to Dunsinane...

Here is an example paragraph for you to look at!Out on the heath, night was falling. Banquo and his son Fleance had been hunting and were on their way back to Dunsinane. Whilst walking through the forest, a chill went down both their spines as they felt the stare of the tress surrounding them. “Do you feel that son?” Banquo enquired. “It does not feel too safe around these parts, somethings not right”.“Can we walk faster?” the boy replied. Both of them knew they had to get back quickly.

Maths task The task should take around 30 minutes.

Now we are going to find the area of these shapes by multiplying the length by the width.
