GIVING As we continue to Know God, Serve Others, and Reach Our World during this time when we are not all gathering together, we continue to rely on the generosity of the church to support the ministry of Ridgecrest. Giving is not payment for activities conducted at the church, but an act of worship conducted by the Church as overflow of what God has provided us. We encourage you to give online, on our church app, or by texting the word "GIVE" to 601-853-1090. For those worshipping on campus, giving stations are available as you exit the building. Thank you for your faithful, continued support!

Pastor Michael EstesSabbath Reminders – Hebrews 4:1-

11 A Reminder that There Remains a Rest for the People of God

I. We are reminded that the past provides a pattern of the promised rest of God. (v.1-2) a. The backdrop of this passage is the story of the people rejecting the word of Caleb and Joshua that they should enter the Promised Land. b. Unbelief kept them from resting, and the author of Hebrews wants us to understand the same is true for us.

II. We are reminded that the rest of God is patterned on the day without an end. (v. 3-5) a. The author of Hebrews then reminds his audience that this rest wasn’t rooted in the Land. b. Instead, the rest of God was rooted in Creation.

III. We are reminded that the past points to a future rest for the people of God. (v. 6-8) a. The rest of God didn’t come with the Promised Land because Joshua failed to give the people rest. b. The rest of God didn’t come with the great king of Israel, David, because he speaks of a rest that is to come.
