Ideally, this page will be very sleek, streamlined, and attractive to ensure that the visitor is not overwhelmed with too many choices or flashy images. After the class suggestion for using Germany’s flag colors, I have decided to keep them orange as is set in the public theme, ocular professor. Although this site is about Germany, I want this to be a site of history, memory, and politics more about Berlin in the post-Cold War era and more on a universal level and applicable to other countries in the future. As I learned when I was in Berlin, the colors of the national flag are still a touchy subject and it was only after the 2006 World Cup in Germany that these colors were proudly displayed since the Nazi era. I would like to have music playing in the background, something related to Berlin or something instrumental and soft/electronica genre. The music would have an on/off switch to match the user’s preference.
