Lead-in To engage Ss to guess the topic of the lesson, generate ideas and activate students’ schemata.

- T says: Hello everybody, welcome to the class.- I want you to think about the following: What was the

funniest activity you did last weekend?- T gives them a couple of seconds to think while writes the

question in the board. (T writes: The last weekend, I…)- T nominates one or two students from each table to write

their answers on the board. (T asks them not to repeat the same verbs that other Ss have written)

- T elicits: What do these sentences have in common? (They’re written in simple past form)

- T: Can you identify the verbs in the sentences? Which of them are regular? Which ones are irregular?

- T makes two circles on the board indicating which ones are regular and irregular.

Main Activity To get Ss to know the instructions of the activity

To read the story in Simple Past and also rearrange the story using Theme and Rheme in an inductive way.

Activity #1- T makes groups (5 groups of 4 people) - T numerates Ss from 1 to 4 - Who’s number 1? Raise your hand! (The same with 2, 3, 4) (T asks them to get together)- T gives instructions: Each group will have a set of cards related to a story of Winnie the Pooh. You have to rearrange them in the correct order. (They have to stick the pieces of the story in a blank sheet)The first team that finishes and has the right order will get a prize (A lollipop for each S of the group)- T checks understanding: Are you going to rearrange the story randomly or in chronological order? (In chronological order) - T sets the time: “For this activity you’ll have 7 minutes”
