Please practise all these areas of maths at home. Here is a list of house hold objects you could use to make it fun:

Pasta Lego Rice Tins from the kitchen Bath toys Cars(There are some maths sheets at the back of this pack)

Personal, Social and Emotional development Allowing children to carry out small tasks around the house is good for their self-esteem, resilience and confidence. Activities children could do around the house:

Making their bed Tidying their room Washing vegetables Hanging out the washing Helping prepare meals Putting away washing

Discuss your child’s interests with them. If they have a certain interest or hobby working together you could do some research and make a poster or a fact book together.

Communication and Language Here are a few ideas of what you can do at home to support your child’s communication and language development

Ask your child open ended questions; why do you think that? How do you know that? Can you explain how you did that? How do you do that?

Go into the garden or at the front of your home and talk about what you can see, what is different from yesterday? Discuss the weather, birds, leaves on trees cars etc.

Play a game of eye spy: Eye spy with my little eye something beginning with ch, Eye spy wit my little eye something that is yellow.

Play a positional language game. Simon says under the table, on the chair, next to the bed, behind the table, in front of the tv… (Your child needs to stand where Simon says. This will help their positional language understanding.

Expressive arts and designIn art we have practised printing and collage skills. You could use different materials from around your house to create a piece of artwork. Materials you could use:

Vegetables for printing Paper, card, foil, tissue paper, felt Newspaper/ magazines Felts, pencils, chalk, paint Cotton buds

pans, pots, spoons, plastic bowls. Can you tap a simple rhythm and change the pitch by tapping hard and soft? Can you make up your own songs, rhymes and use your home-made

instruments to make a family band? Listen to different types of music; classical, reggae, rock, jazz, pop which type

of music is your favourite?

Being Imaginative Each day choose a different person/ character to be. You could be a:

policeman/woman, Disney character, doctor, vet, hairdresser, an animal… Yu could put on a show for your family at home involving signing, dancing,

acting, magician show… You could even act out your favourite story book!

Physical Development Ways to get moving at home:

Do some cosmic yoga in the living room https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga
