The scheme provides adults, particularly people with learning disabilities, mental health issues and dementia, with assistance and a safe space to be if they are feeling scared, upset or bullied if out on their own. The scheme provides reassurance to people and to their families and careers, that there is a means of support for them in the community. The support helps to minimise or remove the risks and a means to report crimes with or on behalf of the adult if necessary.
They can also help by providing support to deal with health emergencies.
