Research Interests

As Chair of the Repatriation Committee, I played a central role in the repatriation of the remains of over 1700 ancestors from University of Toronto to the Huron-Wendat Nation, September 14, 2013. This relates directly to my continuing interest in:

· The relevance of information from the human skeleton to heritage matters, and the establishment of sustained working relationships with aboriginal peoples;

· Skeletal biology of past peoples, focusing on Southern African Khoe-San and North American Lower Great Lakes past populations;

· Methods for deriving information about past lives from human bone and tooth tissues, through microscopy and stable isotope analyses.
