Opening discussion: What do you burden for?
Nehemiah’s Courage, Determination, and WisdomWas shown through addressing what issues?
What were the 2 main components of Judah’s reformation?
What touches your heart, stirs your spirit, and puts your feet to movement?
In the reformation of Judah, how was Nehemiah’s role different from Ezra’s? (See Nehemiah 1 & Ezra 9 & 10)
Knowing that Artaxerxes sanctioned Nehemiah and Ezra to do what they did, what are your thoughts on the mind of God? (Read Isaiah 55: 8-9)
How does this relate to what happened to Christ?
Has God done something similar in your life?
Discuss Nehemiah’s leadership during the first 52 days on the wall. What did his courage, determination, and wisdom look like?
How did his leadership and mindset shift during the following 12 years?
Discuss one or two applicable life lessons that you have taken from the life of Nehemiah.
Pray for God’s spiritual Jerusalem the church, and it’s local expression at Waipuna Chapel. Pray for the leadership and the people that they would have the courage and determination to fulfill that which God has burdened them for.
