1) ICOD DE LOS VINOS.- El Drago (The “Dragon” Tree). - Dragos are an endemic species in the Canary Islands, Macaronesia, and Western Morocco. They are a slow growing species. They grow one centimeter in ten years. It was considered magical by the aborigins (The Guanches) who lived in the Canary Islands. Its major example is in Icod de los Vinos (a 24-thousand town in Northern Tenerife). It is about 500-600 years old but it is popularly known as The Millenary Dragon Tree. 2) EL TEIDE.

- Dragos are an endemic species in the Canary Islands, Macaronesia, and Western Morocco. They are a slow growing species. They grow one centimeter in ten years. It was considered magical by the aborigins (The Guanches) who lived in the Canary Islands. Its major example is in Icod de los Vinos (a 24-thousand town in Northern Tenerife). It is about 500-600 years old but it is popularly known as The Millenary Dragon Tree.

2) EL TEIDE.

- El Teide is the highest mount in Spain. Its height is 3718 mts. It is right in the centre of the island. It gave the name to the island, as Tenerife means White Mountain in the language of the Guanches, the Canarian aborigins. It is the most visited National Park in Spain with over 2 million visitors every year. In the whole of Spain there are 13 National Parks, 4 of them are in the Canary Islands. This photo shows Teide and the vast Canarian pinetree Northern Tenerife woodlands.This tree is fore-resistant and is endemic in 5 of the 7 Canary Islands.

3) La Concepción.- La Laguna, Tenerife.

- La Concepción church is in the centre of La Laguna. Our school hometown. It is the second biggest towj in Tenerife and just 9 kms from the capital, Santa Cruz. Together they are called “zona metropolitana”. La Concepción was the first church in the island. Built in 1511. Its tower is 28 metres high and it is a symbol of our town. Its architecture is similar to the belfry of the Cathedral of Turin, Italy. The tower is from the late XVII century. Its surroundings are quite lively all day long with numerous terraces and restaurants. La Laguna people love walking and sitting in the sun around the church and the square.

4) Las Américas Beach, Arona. Southern Tenerife.

- Las Américas Beach is a touristic resort in the South of Tenerife. It is warm and sunny all year round. Millions of Europeans visit it every year, especially in Winter.
