Hello everyone, I hope that you are all keeping safe and well and enjoyed the very sunny Bank Holiday weekend. Thank you very much for the work submissions last week. You are all doing great work and should be very proud of yourselves. As we are in the month of June and motivation levels are naturally starting to decrease, I have reduced the work for this week to only four subjects per day (English, Irish, Maths and one other subject each day). Please also remember that other activities such as project work, cooking, baking, gardening, designing and decorating are other important areas of our learning that can be developed at this time so if you are taking part in these activities, keep it up! The work to be submitted remains the same as previous weeks (one piece of English and one piece of Maths work from throughout the week). If you have any other additional work that you would like to show me for example, a project that you have been completing or some baking that you have done, you can also send them to my email address: [email protected] and I would be delighted to see what you have been up to during our time away from school. Briathra an Lae- this week for Gaeilge we will be learning some verbs (briathra). Each day, I will give you the Briathar an Lae (Verb of the Day) and I would like you to write the verbs into your copy and the meaning in English beside it. When learning new Irish words, I find it very helpful to draw a picture to represent the word as the visual connection aids your comprehension and makes it easier to commit the words and their meanings to memory. Therefore, beside each verb you might draw a small picture. For example, if the verb was Cheannaigh mé (I bought), you could draw a picture of some coins. Carlow County Council are running an upcycling competition called ‘Isolation creation’ which involves upcycling old items that you might have lying around the house and that you would have previously thrown out, be it some old furniture, an old doll house etc… You must take a before and after picture of whatever the item that you are upcycling is, and email it to [email protected] on or before June 26 th at 5pm. I have included further information at the end of the document and I would really encourage everyone to get involved! I have not specified any particular day during the week to complete this creative work so whatever day suits best fire away!

I have also attached the answers to Master your Maths so that you can correct your work and fix any mistakes.

I hope that you all have a lovely week. Stay safe and mind yourselves.

All the best,
