GO ON, GIVE US A HUG! Crochet Pattern This pattern is for a large HUG, the sizes in brackets are for the two smaller HUGS. Materials: Double knitting or Aran yarn A crochet hook smaller than you would normally use for the yarn you have chosen. E.g. 3.5 for dc, 4.0 for Aran. One button Safety eyes or buttons for eyes and yarn for features. Pattern: Work rows in double crochet (dc), American single crochet throughout. Legs and body: Starting with first leg. Crochet Pattern

This pattern is for a large HUG, the sizes in brackets are for the two smaller HUGS.

Materials:Double knitting or Aran yarn

A crochet hook smaller than you would normally use for the yarn you have chosen. E.g. 3.5 for dc, 4.0 for Aran.

One button

Safety eyes or buttons for eyes and yarn for features.

Pattern:

Work rows in double crochet (dc), American single crochet throughout.

Legs and body:

Starting with first leg. Chain 25(15)(10).Turn, chain 1 and work 59(44)(29) rows of dc. Fasten off.

Repeat to make a second leg, but do not fasten off yarn at the end of row 59(44)(29). Instead:-

Turn work chain 1 and crochet across. At end of row chain (10)(8)(6), then work in dc across the first leg.

Turn: chain 1, dc 25(15)(10) sts, make 10(8)(6) dc into chain, work dc into next 25 (15)(10) stitches.

Turn, *Chain 1, dc into 60(38)(26) stitches*.

Repeat this row a further 119(89)(59) times, placing markers at both ends of rows 40(30)(20) and rows 80(60)(40).

Next row: **Chain 1, Dc into next 25(15)(10) stitches, and turn.

Work a further 59(44)(29) rows. Fasten off.**

Returning to final long row, Miss 10(8)(6) stitches. Rejoin yarn and repeat instructions between ** and **.

Fold in half matching stitch markers and join from the fold down to the stitch marker. Repeat to join the other side.

ARMS.*With right side facing work 5(4)(3) dc on either side of the side seam. 10(8(6)sts.

Turn, chain 1 and work 2dc in each stitch across 20(16)(12) dc.*

Work a further 120(90)(60) rows. Fasten Off.

Work second arm as first from * to *.Work a further 116(86)(56) rows.

Turn, Chain 1, dc in next 4(3)(2)sts. Chain 2, miss next 2 dc, dc next 8(6)(4)sts, chain 2, miss next 2 dc, dc in remaining 4(3)(2)sts.

Turn, chain 1 work across making 2dc in each chain 2 space. 20(16)(12)sts.

Turn work 2 further rows. Fasten off.

Stitch the arms DON’T STUFF THEM.

Stitch up both sides and around the legs, leaving a gap to stuff your HUG. Stuff the body and legs but not too full as it has to be huggable! Add any features that you wish. Yours could be a happy HUG, a sad Hug, a bear HUG or a monster HUG. Just use your imagination.Finally add a button to the arm without the buttonhole (Make sure it fits your button hole!).Make sure that the button is sewn on firmly.
