Welcome to Triple Threat Divas Dance Team

Thank you so much for your interest in Triple Threat Divas Pom and Dance Team! If you are reading this, then your child is on or is possibly joining the TTD family. TTD is looking for dancers that are willing to commit eight months to their team, to work hard to improve individual skills, and to be a loyal teammate. We know this type of program is not for everyone. This team is not “recreational”. We train to compete. One of our goals is to create winning routines, but more than that we want to instill lesson of persistence, responsibility and dedication. This type of goal requires strict attendance policies and structured practices. Please carefully consider these goals when deciding to commit to our team. You probably have many questions. That is why we have this Diva Parent Information Packet. This packet is provided to the new and veteran Triple Threat parents in an effort to inform them about the goals, policies, and procedures of the TTD program. It serves as a great resource and guide for the team parents throughout the season. We have tried to provide answers to the most commonly asked questions. If after reading this information packet you still have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact one of the coaches on their cell phone, or by email. Please make sure to follow the proper communicational chain of command. By this we mean contact your coach with questions or concerns directly before contacting the owner/office. Asking one of our team moms, dad or other parents questions is fine too when related to general matters. Again, we are here to help!

Thanks again for your interest in our dance Program. We look forward to working with each and every one of you in the 2016-2017 competition season.

M I S S I O N S T A T E M E N T Our program is dedicated to building well-rounded dancers through an environment of positive energy, self-motivation and hard work. We believe that each individual’s success contributes to the success of the team. Our goal is to instill the life lessons of persistence, responsibility and dedication into each dancer that will benefit them both on and off the dance floor. We focus on perfecting competitive dance skills, with the understanding that confidence is at the core of every dancer’s ability to shine.

Goals

It is important for children to feel comfortable and secure with the activities in which they partake. At Triple Threat Divas we create a wholesome, family-like atmosphere so that each dancer can fit right into our routines. All of the coaches love to be with children and enjoy working with them to reach their goals and become better people. The list below expresses our goals:

To promote a fun, exciting, long-term experience to each and every dancer. To promote independence and self-discipline through challenging activities. To promote team spirit and collaboration. To provide a wholesome environment in which each dancer grows in all areas of development

through the modeling of appropriate life skills.

Thank you for supporting these goals. We look forward to many more years of coaching dance, and being a special part of children’s lives.

TUITION FEES: Tuition payments are broken down into 7 monthly payments (November - May). Triple Threat Divas will not deduct for illness, vacation or absences. A late fee of $10 will be added to your account 5 days after the due date. Cash payments are encouraged to be the exact amount as we usually do not have change. Students with delinquent accounts of 15 days will not be able to return to practice or compete and delinquent 30 days will be dismissed from the team. Waiting Section: We ask all parents to remain in the waiting section while your child is dancing. No parents will be allowed in the gym while in session unless the parent has talked to the coach and arrangements are made. Parents are not allowed to enter the practice area until the designated time (the end of practice and the doors are open). Please respect our practice area.

BATHROOM: Please remind your dancer to use the restroom before Practice. It is a huge distraction for the entire class when dancers are leaving during instruction.

ATTENDANCE: Good attendance is key to both individual and the team. Attendance will be taken at every practice, competition and any mandatory special event.

3 late arrivals or 3 early departures from practice equals 1 absence Repeated late arrivals and early departures will result in a parent conference. 2 absences for the season will result in probation which includes: changes in placement in

routine. 3 absences for the season will result in removal from a competition. 4 or more absences for the seasons will result in removal from the team for the remainder of

the season. If your child has an injury she is still required to come to practice, even if she cannot

physically participate. That way she won’t miss any changes that might occur. Attendance is mandatory for the 2 weeks prior to all competitions!!!

A ll coaches must be notified of pending absence/tardy at least 4 hours before practice. Absence from competition must be identified at least a full month in advances.

For all religious activities and school activities that conflict with scheduled practices, please submit your dates in writing to your coach.

****Attendance policy exception for health issues will be decided by coaches****

PROPER ATTIRE: Dancers are expected to wear dancewear to class to enable the instructors to see bodylines for correct body placement. Dancewear is defined as: Crop tops, shorts, and jazz pants. Hair should be pulled back and secured. Jazz shoes or gym shoes. If your child is not wearing proper dancer attire she will have to sit out of practice.

TEACHER CONTACT: If you would like to speak to a staff member regarding your dancer please e-mail them so that a meeting can be set up at your convenience. If you are up-set and would like to speak to one of the coaches we have a 24 hour cool down period before you contact a coach.

FUNDRAISING: Triple Threat Divas conducts several fundraisers throughout the year to help families pay for the cost of a competitive Dance Team. Families are strongly encouraged to participate in all fundraising.

Be a Sportive ParentAllow the coaches to do their jobs. Only your child/children’s coaches need to tell her what skills to do, how to do them, when it is time to learn a new skill, and when it is time to move up. Please do not come into the gym area during practice unless for an emergency or when invited. If you need to pick up your dancer early, then let the coaches know ahead of time. After practice is over you are welcome to have a quick talk with the coaches as long as they have the time. Relax & allow your daughter to be in the care of the coaches so that the athletes can progress in a fun, safe, & productive manner, which is what we all want.

C O A C H & P A R E N T S U P P O R T

Parents and coaches need to support each other. We are working together for a common goal that our children have fun, work and play hard as a team. Reinforce the need for appropriate behavior during practices for the sake of fun, safe, & productive instruction. Coaches and parents need to make sure to follow the goals, policies, and procedures for everything to work smoothly.

Any negative or derogatory posting on any SOCIAL MEDIAL by any TTD dancer or parent will result in the immediate suspension and or removal of that dancer or family form TTD.

Rumors and gossip feed NEGATIVE ATTITUDES, and NEGATIVE ENVIROMENT. Please do not start, listen to or repeat any gossip or small talk. If you have any questions or concerns about anything concerning TTD the best source is not a parent but a TTD staff member (there is four

of them pick one).

At the competitions many scenarios can result as to the decision made by the meet director. Specific times for your athlete’s session for a particular competition will usually come home a week before the competition. If you have any questions about how to get to a meet just ask your child coaches. These session times are tentative and can change, but usually they do not change too much; it will always depend on the number of teams in the competition. Let the competition be a fun day. We usually have the athletes arrive 1 hours before their competition

time. Do Not Be Late! If circumstances occur that force you to be late, please call the coach and let them know. The dancers need to be there on time to allow us to make sure they are properly prepared when it is their time to perform. They also have to be in warm up at a certain time. At the competitions the coaches will be going back and forth at times signing in the teams, finding out final performance and warm-up times, retrieving score cards, getting possible T-shirts/goodie bags, etc. If you do not see your coaches at the meet, don’t panic, they are off doing something meet related and one coach and team mom will be with the girls at all times. The coaches will let you know when the teams are dismissed to go home; it will vary from competition to competition. The athletes are usually required to stay until awards.

All participants are expected to attend all competitions. You must contact your coach in advance if something happens that prevents your child from performing at a competition. All competition addresses and report times will be given in advance. All Competition fees are non-refundable and are subject to change based company discretion
