Lesson 3: The Central Processing Unit (CPU)

Objectives:

To identify its name and image. To learn what is the main function and use of CPU in a computer To draw their own perception of a CPU.

The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is considered to be the brain of the whole computer system. It interprets and does all the commands. It is responsible for all the processing, like computations of numbers, giving signals to the printers, mouse and etc..

Central Processing Unit (CPU) can be compared to the human brain in which all the commands of what the body needs to do is process.

It is also known as the “Processing Device”
