Mrs Proudley year 7 [email protected] English To be completed with an adult as you will need help reading the activity. . Handwriting Over the past few weeks during lockdown, we have practised various Literacy skills. It is also important to think about our handwriting. If our handwriting is tricky to read, people will struggle to read our wonderful sentences. It is important to have great handwriting that people can read. When we practise handwriting at school, we think about ground, grass and sky letters. This helps us to think about how tall each letter should be, if it sits on the line or if it goes below the line. This word shows a grass letter, a sky letter and a ground letter. The sky letters go high into the blue sky. The grass letters sit on the line but stay in the green grass. The ground letters go deep below the line into the brown ground. Please feel free to email Mrs Proudley and share how you found this activity. You could take a picture of your work or ask a parent / carer to write about how you got on. We love to hear how you are progressing with your English tasks.

The ground letters go deep below the line

into the brown ground.

Look at these letters with your adult. Do not worry too much if you need help to read the word, but tell your adult which letters are ground, grass or sky letters. For example, the word below has 2 sky letters, 1 grass letter and 1 ground letter.

Please feel free to email Mrs Proudley and share how you found this activity. You could take a picture of your work or ask a parent / carer to write about how you got on. We love to hear how you are progressing with your English tasks.
