Adjective = Describing word
Task 1 - Underline all the adjectives in the sentences below.

Common Nouns = person, place or thing that doesn’t need a capital letter e.g. man, shop, game, book, river.

Adverbs = Adverbs are used to modify verbs. They tell us when, where, how, in what manner, or to what extent an action is performed. E.g. yesterday, quickly, fastest.

Prepositions = words that indicate a location or a time e.g. on, above, during, at midnight.

Conjunctions = word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause e.g. because, but, if.

Articles = forms or a or an before a word. Use a when the word starts with a consonant, use an when the word starts with a vowel. E.g. an elephant, a peg.

Direct Speech = To show the exact words spoken or written (“ “).

Subject Verb Agreement = Both need to be singular or both need to be plural e.g. dog chases the cat (singular) or the dogs chase the cat (plural).

Independent Clause = A clause that can stand alone as a sentence (i.e., it expresses a complete thought).
