DIY Water Marbling Technique
Supplies:
Bucket or pan (deep enough that the object you want to create can fit)
Nail polish (Try to use no more than 4 colors)
Water
Newspaper
Object you want to paint (Glass cup, mug, wooden coasters etc.)
Tooth pick (Optional)
Sealant (Optional)
1: Collect supplies and set up in a well vented area.
2: Using painters tape you can tape off anywhere you do not want to paint to go. (Optional)
3: Fill bucket or pan with water. Make sure that it is deep enough that the area you want painted will be covered.
4: Pour in the nail polish into the water. Designs can be made by layering the paint.
5: Take the tooth pick and gently swirl the paint. (Optional)
6: Slowly lower the object into the water. (I did a mason jar and a small wooden tray.)
7: When the object is coated as desired, shake the object and then pull it out of the water.
8: Leave to dry. May also add a sealant if desired. If not satisfied with the design, take nail polish remover and start again.
9: Either dump the water outside or take a paper towel and swirl it to get all the nail polish out of the water before dumping down the drain. (The polish could transfer to the sink)
