Fund raising for the Italian earthquake
Grand Chapter of Germany
Grand chapter of Canada
Convention in Malta 2017
_____________________________________________________________________________
From the Grand MasterDear Confreres and friends of the Confraternity,
September was quite a busy month preparing for the Luncheon to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in central Italy.
On Sunday the 18 of September, our Confraternity was invited to take part in the celebration of the Annunciation of Our Lady at a small country town in Mount Evelyn, here in Melbourne.
Bishop Peter Elliott celebrated the Mass and was assisted by the local parish priest Rev Michel Corriveau.
On Sunday 25 September, we had the Luncheon. It took four whole days to set up the hall, prepare the food and clean afterwards, but the labour of love to the victims of the earthquake was worth it.
Many people donated food, money and things for the raffle.
The total of money raised was $15,000 Aust. dollars.
Well done to all those who contributed to the success of this event. Many thanks to all those involved in the preparation and setting of the hall, preparation of the food, cooking, sponsors, donors, performers, etc. . Thank you also to ICKA Club for
proving the hall and the facilities to have a bigger place for the event.

Fellow Knights and Dames
May I express my own congratulations to one and all on the absolutely amazing effort for the Italian Earthquake Appeal.
Working together produced an exemplary outcome both in social terms and promoting the good work of the Confraternity but also in raising funds for those in dire need.
The latter in particular is what I believe brings us all closer to the Lord, Jesus the Christ. Doing good things. Practising care and charity. Helping
those in need.
But re the former, if it also attracts others to join us then that is another positive outcome as the more support we have the greater what we can achieve.
I thank the Grand Master for his leadership and I praise all of you who gave and did and achieved so much.
Chevalier Ange Kenos
Bravo, exemplary team effort! Congratulations to all the hard workers who made this event such a success. May those who worked the event and those who gave so generously be Blessed! "Whatever you do for the least of my brethren, you do unto Me"

Grand Chapter of GermanyMonthly report September 2016
By Grand Prior Professor Dr. Lothar Gellert
An impressive highlight of the month of September was the participation of the German Chapter of the Confraternity of the Knights of St.Peter & St. Paul in the admission festivities of the Knightly Order of the Archangel St. Michael, Germany, into the parent organization of the German orders of knights, the Deutscher Ritterbund, and the official investiture of Prof. Dr. Horst-Achim Ehrenbrecht as its grandmaster.
In a solemn atmosphere this event took place on the premises of the knights castle “Landeskrone” in Görlitz, Silesia, on Saturday, September 3rd.
Most of the guests – friendly orders and confraternities – arrived already on September 1 st and so the evening of this day offered many opportunities to exchange experiences and memories and to establish new contacts.
On Friday, all knights and dames had the chance to visit the most interesting and historical places of Görlitz with a guide.
The evening was spent in a cheerful mood with a delicious meal, music and singing.
On Saturday morning the program started with a church service in the Cathedral of St. Jakobus in Görlitz; here the solemn entry of all the different orders with their banners was a very emotional moment.
In the afternoon the festivity continued in the titular castle of the Order of the Knights of St. Michael, the “Landeskrone”, and began with the traditional hoisting of the flags high above the city. The grandmasters and grand priors of all orders and confraternities were given a welcome with special honour in the knights’ hall before the investiture began. At the end of the ceremonies and before the banquet, all guests were asked for a little donation to support a children’s home in Görlitz or the organization “Ärzte ohne Grenzen” (Médecins sans frontiers).
Grand Prior Dr. Lothar Gellert with the participating Knights and Dames of St. Peter & St. Paul and the Grandmaster of the Order of St. Michael, Prof Dr. Horst-Achim Ehrenbrecht
During this weekend in the eastern part of Germany our confraternity experienced not only the hospitality of the knights of St. Peter and St. Paul, but also sincere friendship and acceptance among other German and Austrian orders and confraternities.
To stay in contact with our friendly Order of the Knights of St. Michael, Vienna, the German chapter of the Confraternity of the Knights of St. Peter and St. Paul will take part in the festivities of their patron’s Day on October 1st with six of its members.
Although we travel a lot to advance networking with other confraternities and orders, which pursue the same goals in their thinking and acting as we do, we also sharpen our awareness of charitable work, as the following example shows.
Touched by a mail about children suffering in Malawi, which the grand prior received from the Grand Prior of the Hosp. Order of St. Lazarus, he spread this sad news among the Knights and Dames of the confraternity of St. Peter & St. Paul and asked them to support the project of “Mary’s Meals” by a little donation, too. Some of them spend some money by private transfers, even on a regular basis and so helped to feed some children.
New banner for the ConfraternityA new banner has been ordered by the Supreme Council to be used in special occasions.
The banner will be made in Italy and hopefully ready for the Convention in June next year.
The cost is 800 Euros.
HISTORY OF THE CONFRATERNITYGrand Prior Chevalier Dr. Nicola Mongelli of Italy has accepted to organize and edit the book with the history of the Confraternity.
Grand Prior Dr. Mongelli has done a lot of wonderful work for the Confraternity.
He created the coat of arms of the Grand Master, the latest certificate of appreciation and he touched up on other pieces of artwork.
The Confraternity is very lucky to have such a wonderful person who never say no, when it comes to helping me and the Confraternity.
I will be honoured to meet him in person next year.
Peter Paul Portelli
Grand Master.
