Gymnastic – Balances
In this weeks lesson we will be practicing our balancing skills in gymnastics. This lessons includes 3 tasks, however task 3 is just an extra fun challenge
I want you to be able to show control, therefore when performing a balance you should be able to keep your body absolutely still.
REMEMBER - When performing I want you to try and hold the balance for 5 seconds.
Task 1 – Point Balances – Give each of these balances a try.
A point balance simply means, how many parts of your body are touching the ground.For example, a ‘one point balance’ means one part of the body is touching the ground.
One Point Balance Two Point Balance
Three Point Balance Four Point Balance
Task 2 – How Many Can You Do?
Using the examples below, I want you to demonstrate your balance skills! I want to see Quality, Control and Technique.
Remember, you should be able to hold the balance for 5 seconds.
BRONZE – I can hold one balance from each line for 5 seconds.
SILVER – I can hold two balances from each line for 5 seconds.
GOLD – I can hold three balances from each line for 5 seconds.
Task 3 – Spell your name
This is just an extra fun challenge. Create a balance for each letter to spell your name.
