Asheboro High School 1221 South Park Street Asheboro, North Carolina 27203 TELEPHONE (336) 625-6185 FAX (336) 625-9320 Dear Senior/Parent: September 2015 The final year of high school is like no other you have experienced. You will be expected to: study and make good grades; work and save money in anticipation of college or life in the working world; and decide on a college or a career. There are various events planned to make your senior year a memorable experience. To do all of these can be expensive and time- consuming. With every college application there is a fee; the senior pictures, the cap, gown, and diploma are another expense. A lot of seniors also want to buy a yearbook, attend the senior cookout and/or banquet, go on a senior trip, and enjoy a prom night to remember. Obviously, your final year of high school will be a time when many important decisions will be made. This information is designed to help you know what to anticipate throughout the upcoming year. Approximately 92.4 percent of AHS graduates continue their education beyond high school; therefore, the tasks of applying for entrance to college, seeking financial aid, and pursuing scholarships are important ones to most seniors. Those of us who work in Student Services believe it is our responsibility to assist you as you prepare for life after graduation. Included in this bulletin is information about senior expenses, options after high school, college visits, college application process, transcripts, ACT/SAT, financial aid, and important dates for your senior year. Also, you will find the website address for the scholarship bulletin that will be updated monthly (September through May). It is your responsibility to read the scholarship bulletin and pick up applications. It is our hope
