Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals - from DC Homes to the Potomac What are Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals? Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) are chemicals that interfere with an animal’s endocrine system. The endocrine system manages growth and development, so the side effects of exposure to EDCs may include cancer, diabetes, infertility, autoimmune diseases, asthma, and many other serious health issues in humans and other animal species. What products contain EDCs? EDCs normally come from man-made household and beauty products including detergent, dish soap, facial cleanser, lip balm, and more. Common EDCs include parabens, fragrances, oxybenzone, and others listed on the back of this flyer. How do EDCs get in the Potomac River? "Icons made by Good Ware from www.flaticon.com "

What are Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals?Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) are chemicals that interfere with an animal’s endocrine system.
