HOMEWORK
This week students will receive a Vocab tracker.
Please keep notes of some new and interesting ways you use the new vocab words in
your homes.
We all are developing our own stamina and I want “homework” to be fun, if it feels too much right now simply focus on the nightly reading, thanks!
Literacy We will be digging into the short O word families this week. It is a
carry over from last week’s snow craziness. We will explore the –ot, -og, -op, and – ob families.
Please continue to use the letters and word family sorts from last week. I will also include short a word families. Repeated practice building, tapping out sounds and reading is so important to our
literacy development. Sometimes the words we make are “nonsense words”. Nonsense words will often become smaller syllables in larger words so they are all important. You can help your child decide; “real
word or nonsense word”.
Sight word practice sheets will be sent home this week. I will update as we introduce more. You can cut the cards and use them for practice or
review.
Week 11 vocabulary words: bare, request, displeased, fetch and amble
