Maths - Class Mrs Potter Class 5/6 Theme: 3D Shapes Summer 1 Week 4 Activity 1: Word search Find all the 3D shape names in the wordsearch Activity 2: Plans and elevations of cuboids See the example of a side, front and plan view of a cuboid. Use the squared paper below this example to draw a side, front and plan view of a cuboid 1cm by 4cm by 6cm. Activity 3: Choose the shape Look at the 4 examples of sorting shapes – try to choose the correct shape for the elevations shown – imagine trying to post each example through the hole made from the elevation – which shape would fit through every hole. Activity 4: Shape sorter Draw the 3D shape the would fit through all three holes – use the triangular dotty paper under the slide. Activity 5: Draw plans and elevations of shapes Draw a plan, side and front view of each of the shapes shown, on the squared paper below them. Send all your drawings to - [email protected] Activity 6: Cubes investigation
