Installation of 2019-2020 Officers Dinner September 26 th : Our next dinner meeting is at Pinz Bowling Center located at 700 N. Lafayette St. S. Lyon 48178 (248-437-0700) @ 6:30 PM. Kris Krzyzanski will be installing the new officers: Karissa-President, Diana-President Elect, Treasurer-Doug, and Secretary-Theresa. Also, Tracey will be taking over as the recording secretary/newsletter editor. Come on out and celebrate the new officers and the Club’s second anniversary since being chartered on September 29th, 2017! Make sure to bring family and friends to enjoy the celebration.

Business Meeting October 10 th /Desert Angels Packing Party: The Oct packing party will be in lieu of the Club’s business meeting that normally would be held on this date. The Club will be collecting items for our troops overseas. See attached list for items needed. This is scheduled at the Oakland County Sportsman Club located at 4770 Waterford Rd., Clarkston, 48346. Packing is scheduled at 5 PM. Afterwards, members and friends will go out for dinner at the brewery. Bring items to be packed, if you’re not able to attend, then drop off the items to Tracey or at the next dinner meeting. The Club will also be presenting a donation of $500 to help with the mailing costs. Remember, no alcohol, pork items, chocolates or any aerosols can be used. Also, any scented items should be individually wrapped.

Our next business meeting will be held on November 14th at 6:30 PM. We will meet at the Lyon Twp. Library (located at 27005 S. Milford Rd., S. Lyon 48178). There is plenty

of room so please bring a friend or guest with you.

Pumpkin Fest Sept 28 th -29 th : The We’ll set up the booth on Sat at 8 AM. The festival runs from 10 AM-7 PM on Sat and 11 AM-6 PM on Sun. The Club will also be selling Pumpkin Fest tee shirts on Sat, (and beverages) for which the Club will receive a percentage of sales. Theresa will have the signup sheets at the dinner meeting to work the booth and sell the Pumpkin Fest tee shirts.

Focus Hope Food Box Build Oct 19 th : The Plymouth Canton Civitan Club is meeting at the Costco parking lot located at the service drive of I-96 and Middle Belt Rd. at 9 AM. After the food boxes (for senior citizens and low income families) have been built, members will be going to the Polish restaurant Polonia’s and to the New Palace Bakery for those interested. Contact Theresa if interested in participating.

Blessings in a Backpack December 11 th : The Club will participate at Bartlett School in packing the backpacks for the kids to take home for the weekend. Meet at the school around 6:30 PM, afterwards, the group will go out for dinner. Please note that the 11th is a Wednesday.

Organizing a new Civitan Club is one of the most rewarding service projects a club can accomplish. Searching for good people to join Civitan is one of the principles in the Civitan Creed: “My eyes search for others to join the fellowship and service of Civitan.”

Throughout the world, people are looking for opportunities to volunteer their time through community service. They also want to enhance their personal and professional skills, meet new friends and network with business associates. Civitan Clubs provide these opportunities.

Keep up the great work and continue to encourage others to become a member of KVCC!
