YEAR 5 HOMEWORK Welcome back to school! Here are the tasks for the next half term. You must complete homework totalling 70 points. You must complete at least 2 pieces of Maths, 2 pieces of English and 1 piece of Science, RE and Topic. This is in addition to daily reading, Mathletics and spellings. Work must be brought in by Monday 5th of November, ready to share with the class. English Write a story set in Ancient Egypt. 10 points English Find out some interesting facts about Ancient Egypt and create a multiple choice quiz for the rest of the class. 10points English Research the 7 wonders of the Ancient World. You could create a brochure or leaflet to present your information. 10 points Maths Write some maths questions or word problems to solve using Egyptian number symbols. 10 points Maths 10 points Maths Place each of the numbers 1 to 5 in the V shape so that the two arms of the V have the same total. How many different possibilities are there? Can you convince someone that you have all the solutions? 10 points RE Research a well-known figure whose quality, talents and values you admire. Write an illustrated newspaper feature about the person for n imaginary ‘Personality of the Year’ competition. 10 points RE Describe the qualities and talents of a person who might be a role model. Create a ‘character to live by’ outlining these qualities and talents. 10 points RE Design a job description for the position/role of an apostle or a prophet. 10 points Topic Make a Spartan helmet or design a shield. 10 points Topic Design your own Labyrinth. It could be made of straws, string or wood. Be creative! 10 points Topic Create a picture of an imaginary Greek God. Make sure your poster is eye- catching and full of facts and information. Try to think of a symbol for your God. 10 points
