Chaplains and volunteers offer spiritual, practical and financial support in a time of crisis. The Mission offers an opportunity for crews to get into touch with their overseas relatives and friends by telephone or via the Internet. The Kigama School breakfast club provides daily porridge to school children who otherwise would go hungry. Ex-congregation member Priscila Rodriguez worked at this school for a while and help start the program. New Testament Lesson: Romans 6:3-11
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison.
