Easter Disco Thursday evening’s disco was a roaring success, thank you to all the helpers who made it go so well. These events are important and will help us to provide activities such as the visit to the Panto free of charge. Last night’s disco featured several Easter themed children wearing rabbit outfits. We raised over £600.

Welcome back to Longroyde for the Summer Term; it is packed with fun and adventures.

Progress on our new cooking and DT space is coming on well. As you can see from the photograph above it is going to be a large space. We are nearing the end of the project now, the decorators are in, the kitchen and flooring will be next and then its furniture time.

New Wind Group Begins Thanks to Mrs O’Donaghue we have a new wind group which features some of the children who have wind lessons each week in school. We are very grateful to Mrs O’Donaghue for organizing this wonderful experience for the children.

Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebrations Next Thursday is the Queen’s 90th Birthday and we are celebrating with a Red, White and Blue Day in school. £1 donations to Barnardos, one of the Queen;’s charities, please. We also have a new flag as you can see.

Cricket The 2016 season is here…are you interested? Why not come and play at Rastrick Cricket Club? They have under 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 teams (school years 4-12). They practise on Fridays from 6.15pm-8.00pm (Under 17’s Tuesdays) The team match days vary. The club will be holding a signing on and information night on Friday 15th April from 6.30pm. You can also call 01484 713186 or 01484 655529 for further details.

Damage to school property On Thursday evening a school planter was damaged when a Castlefield’s child jumped into in it after deliberately trying to remove it from its mornings. This I might add was done whilst the child’s carer was present! This planter has had to be thrown away now. We have all witnessed examples of poor behavior from children waiting for older relations recently. I must stress to everybody that the behavior of the children you bring into our playground is your responsibility. I do not want to have to ban badly behaved children but I will.
