Theming Update Outline

On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, IT Services will be deploying a theming update to WebPublish.

While there are a few changes that will be made across all sites, this update will also make

available a number of new styling options that you can request to have applied to your site.

Once the update is complete, if you would like to apply any of the new styling options to your

WebPublish site, please have your site owner submit a request via the IT Services Help Form.

Please include the name and URL of your website in your enquiry.

Updates Across All SitesFeature After Update

Slideshow ▪ Slideshow will be displayed with squared corners▪ Slides without captions will display without a caption box, providing a seamless look▪ Slide captions will no longer be italicized

News Feeds ▪ Only the linked page title will be displayed on the aggregator page - Heading 1 title will be accessibly hidden

▪ Tags will be displayed inline▪ The ‘Read More’ link will be removed▪ The RSS feed icon will be larger

Collapsible Content ▪ A ‘non-text content’ accessibility issue existed is resolved.

New Styling OptionsBackground ▪ Option to use white background

▪ Option to remove drop-shadow that currently appears around the main content area

Postscript Region Two options to differentiate this region from the main content region:▪ A subtle hairline▪ Light grey shading

Note that you can also choose not to use any styling for this region.

Site-wide Block Styling If enabled, all blocks will display with the following formatting:▪ No shadow or border▪ Titles underlined with your choice of red, gold or grey▪ Blocks without titles will appear with a hairline along the top border

when they are placed beneath another block

New Block Classes A number of new content-specific CSS block classes can be used to enhance the formatting of your blocks:

▪ Profile, Calendar, Employment Opportunities, Blog, Accessible Documents, Quicklinks, Generic List

How to Use this Guide

▪ Each slide contains a screenshot of a WebPublish site featuring a combination of the new

styling options that will be available to you.

▪ Sites are numbered from 1 to 18 - see the Notes section of each slide for an outline of the

styling options featured therein. If you are viewing the PDF version, you can hover over the

images or the Comments icon (speech bubble) to view a description of the site.

▪ You are welcome to use this guide as a reference when submitting a request for new styling

options for your site (e.g., ‘Please enable the options featured on site 3 of the guide).

▪ Note that the sites featured in this guide are not exhaustive of all possible combinations of

styling options for your site. For instance, you can keep a textured or gradient background

and still use the new block styling option.
